Best Buys 2012

DECEMBER (2011): JOSEPH TWO-TONE MOHAIR KNIT

For the ones who have been following me for a while might recognise this mohair two-tone knit from Joseph. I love the fit and colour combo (all my favourite “colours” in one!). I bought it from Net-a-Porter (oh, the days of staff discount!) and it’s by far my most worn knit, so needless to say – the perfect buy.

JANUARY: KARL DONOGHUE SHEARLING SCARF

Another piece I’m sure you’ve seen enough of is this beautiful shearling scarf from Karl Donoghue (also bought from Net-a-Porter). Such a versatile piece, which easily glam’s up any outfit; I particularly like wearing it with a more casual outfit, playing on the contrasts.

FEBRUARY: YSL CAT EYE SUNGLASSES

I wasn’t sure about these sunglasses from YSL at first; although I’m a huge sunglasses addict, I’d never gone for the ‘cat eye’ look. It took me while to get used to them, but now they’re one of my favourites! Again, the shape is very ‘ladylike’ – so I like to wear them when I’m wearing something more casual and edgy.

MARCH: JIL SANDER SILK & WOOL BLEND CAPE

This cape from Jil Sander is one of my all-time favourite buys (and that says a lot I guess.) Needless to say, it’s beautifully made and I always feel amazing in it. The quality is stunning and I just love the ‘cape’ shape. It looks great with skinny leather pants or over a black mini dress, adding a real statement to any outfit. Bought from a designer sample sale – originally £1800 (!) to £80. STEAL!

APRIL: UTERQUE LEATHER & METAL HEEL BOOTIES

I’ve always been after the ‘perfect boot’ – and these booties from Uterque tick all the boxes, with the perfect height, shape and unique details. Sadly, I have worn them so much, and they’re not as shiny and beautiful as back in April, but I know I will wear them to the very bitter end. And why not; in my eyes they have it all.

MAY: MALIN + GOETZ MOJITO SCENTED CANDLE

You all know I love my scented candles, and I was delighted when I found MALIN+GOETZ had made one in ‘Mojito’ – my favourite cocktail! YUM. Bought from Liberty’s.

JUNE: BIMBA & LOLA NUDE SUEDE SANDAL HEELS

I love nude heels – they lengthen your legs and are so easy to slip on with any outfit. These ones from Bimba & Lola are great because they’re not too high, and they are super feminine – with the gold buckle detailing, soft suede and sandal shape. I’m always a bit vary with suede, so I need to take extra care of these beauties. I want them to last a very long time!

JULY: LEATHER GOLD STUDDED BRACELETS

As you all know, I love my arm candy. Especially in the summer, when I wear loads of colourful bracelets, bangles and chains stacked together. I found these leather gold studded bracelets from a small boutique in Italy – they were only a few euros each, so an absolute steal! I particularly like wearing them with my oversized silver & gold watch from Michael Kors.

AUGUST: H&M TREND PRINTED JACKET

This is so my style – a real statement jacket, to lift an otherwise simply composed outfit. I love the embroidered elements, fringes and colours, and even though it’s just H&M, it still feels very unique to me! Great with a simple outfit, or with some denim flares to enhance the ‘boho’ look.

SEPTEMBER: BIJOUX BY DESI F GOLD NECKLACES

You all know I am a big fan of Bijoux by Desi F‘s jewellery; I discovered her beautiful range on Etsy.com, and have been hooked ever since. These are my two favourite pieces from her; my gold initial disc necklace and the moon & star necklace. Preferably stacked together. Both are silver and gold filled, and they look just as shiny and new as when I first got them!

OCTOBER: SELECTED FEMME WOOL & LEATHER PEACOAT

You’ve all seen this jacket from Selected Femme a few times on the blog by now – I love the leather detailing and shape, it just goes with everything! Such a great buy, and one that will last me several seasons.

NOVEMBER: PERRICONE MD ‘NO CONCEALER CONCEALER’

I love Perricone MD, so needless to say I was very excited to try their concealer – ‘No Concealer Concealer’. It really does what it says on tin – it covers up, whilst not being visible. Perfect for that every day, natural ‘work’ look.

DECEMBER (2012): ZARA LEATHER GOLD STUDDED SKIRT

I bought a leather mini skirt from Zara last year, and it’s been a huge wardrobe favourite ever since. I was so happy to find a new one this season, serving up as a strong contender with it’s cute flap detailing and gold studs. It’s feminine with the shape – yet edgy with the leather. Great every day skirt, or evening – with a silk shirt and some simple killer heels.

So many buys in one year (eek!) – but very few which I regret, and all of the above is what I consider as ‘great buys’; leather, silk, wool, luxurious scents, accessories and all in all – unique looking pieces.

Now, again I would love to hear which are your favourites?

Jag gillar jackan från H&M men en av mina favoriter som du dock inte tog med här är din jacka från Uterque som verkligen är HEEEELT fantastisk. Skulle kunna göra mycket för den!

I really like the nude heels, the YSL sunglasses and the Joseph jumper. Both suit you very well. However, I simply fell in Love with your Jill Sander Cape! And I have to admit I am a bit jealous of this great purchase ;)
