A cargo (or army/utility jacket – whatever one likes to call it) is a true wardrobe classic. I have a couple, and I´ve had them for years. They´re like leather, they just get better with age and wear! They´re not supposed to be crisp and sharp, rather worn, faded and rugged…
A cargo jacket is also surprisingly versatile and can be worn in so many different ways; with skinny leather pants and Converse, over a floral dress and biker boots, with denim and a shirt… The list goes on (and on). When I got my first cargo jacket a good 7-8 years ago, good styles weren’t that easy to get hold of. Now, there´s so many amazing (and affordable) ones on the high street, in all types of styles; from the classic khaki, the army print, sequins, patches… Here are the ones I am loving right now.
1. PIMKIE UTILITY JACKET
I love this style from Pimkie. It´s relatively classic with it´s colour and shape, but I really like the belted element, which just makes it that bit more feminine; ideal if you want to change it up from the more traditional boxy and straight style.
2. MILK IT VINTAGE FESTIVAL JACKET
I love this more boho style from Milk It Vintage – the tassels and embroidered elements are so cute, making this one a lot more fun and feminine; also ideal for festival season.
3. URBAN OUTFITTERS CLASSIC KHAKI JACKET
This style from Urban Outfitters is a true classic, with the perfect colour, shape and fit. It´s a winner!
3. ASOS LONGLINE KHAKI JACKET
If you prefer a longer style – this one from ASOS is perfection. adore the dusty green colour, the pocket details and the length, making this much more of a sturdy option.
4. URBAN OUTFITTERS CAMO JACKET
I already own this exact style from Urban Outfitters (as seen in the first pic). It´s a great shape and print, and another real classic cargo jacket.
Safari/utility jackets are wardrobe staples along with a peacoat, trench, cape and leather jacket; good post X
My favorite on is the Urban Outfitters.
Thanks for sharing Anneli!
