Wedding Series: IMBIBERY 3-Day Juice Detox Review

3-Day Juice Cleanse

Many of you might recall I did the 7-day Jason Vale juice cleanse last year (read my full review here) – however notably this was for seven days and I made all the juices myself; both of which combined together, requires a lot of dedication – trust me! After following Imbibery London on Instagram and seeing all the love going around for this London based cold pressed juice company – I was dying to try their 3-day Juice Detox, as a proper kick start just before the wedding!

The Juices

5 juices, 1 mylk, 2 shots

1. GREEN – Spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon

2. EXOTIC – Pineapple, ginger

3. ROOTS – Beet, carrot, apple, lemon, ginger

4. SPICY LIMEADE – Lime, lemon, h2o, cayenne pepper, agave

5. GREEN – Spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon

6. CASHEW MYLK – Cashew, h2o, cinnamon, vanilla, Himalayan sea salt, date

+ PURE LEMON SHOT & HOT SHOT (ginger, lemon, h2o, cayenne pepper)

* You start of each morning with the Pure Lemon Shot, followed by a juice every 2-hours. The Hot Shot can be drunk at any time throughout the day, on it’s own or mixed with cold/hot water. Make sure you drink each juice slowly, ‘chewing’ the juice and savour each drop.*

Day 1

I start off the day with the Pure Lemon Shot, which you mix with water – although I did it the hard way and had the shot on it’s own! What can I say; I love lemon – it was yummy and refreshing!

I wait an hour until I have my first Green juice at 9am (they are all clearly labelled by order on the back of the bottle) – and it’s delicious! If you follow me on Instagram – you all know I’m obsessed with green juices and smoothies – so I’m not sensitive to anything green/veggies at all (to say the least!). This juice tastes so fresh – the perfect combination of sweet with a sour aftertaste from the spinach and celery. I will probably go as far as saying it is the best green juice I have ever tasted (and that’s a big statement coming from me!).

After two hours, I drink the Exotic juice, and it’s the perfect pick-me up after starting to feel a bit dizzy – it’s fresh yet very sweet with the pineapple, as well as spicy with the ginger; it keeps me going for the next two hours! At 1pm I have the Roots juice (one of my other faves), which is the most filling of all the juices – yet it still has that super tasty and fresh taste. By now, I am feeling a bit lightheaded and I’m craving something to chew – so I make sure I keep drinking loads of water and herbal teas (I love Pukka ‘Cleanse’ tea), to keep my hunger at bay.

At 3pm I have the Spicy Lemonade juice, which is sour and spicy – and although it re-fuels me and sets back the hunger, it’s probably my least favourite (but does the trick!). I am counting down the minutes to the next juice as I really hit an energy slump come the evening (dinner time). At 5pm I gulp down the next Green Juice (hrm, sip – the latter being very important as you’re supposed to really chew and savour each drop).

I certainly do that with the Cashew Mylk which is absolutely delicious! To make it even more yummy and filling, I follow their suggestion and pop it in my blender with some ice so I get a creamy mylkshake – it’s so flavoursome, and I feel full and clear headed.

Tip:

To really push the benefits on my juice cleanse, I set aside an hour each evening for a long bath where I help the detoxifation by blending a mixture of epsom salt, magnesium flakes, a few shakes of ground ginger, bicarbonate of soda and some lavender oil in my bath. It’s the most amazing combination! I go to bed early and sleep like a baby.

Exersize: I had a brisk walk and 1-hour class of Reformer Pilates.

Day 2

I wake up feeling clear headed and fresh! I am not overly hungry (the fact that I’m used to having a smoothie for breakfast on most day, makes it noticeably easier). I am excited to have my first juice, and I make sure to saviour the whole thing as it’s just so yummy (I wish all my juices tasted like this!).

I have a very busy day of meetings and errands, so I have to pack 2 juices with me (this is not ideal as they need to be kept cold). I managed to get them refrigerated at some of the places I was at, so they still kept their freshness and flavour. I was really worried with such a busy day (and also knowing from previous juicing experience that the second day is the hardest), I would feel dizzy and lightheaded – but in all honesty, I felt fine all day! As I was so busy, I didn’t always have time to think about being hungry, and as each juice is pretty sweet, they really  kept me going throughout the day.

I am exhausted when I come back and can’t wait for my two last juices; my favourite Green Juice and Cashew Mylk. I jump in the bath, and I’m in bed by 9pm (this never normally happens – I’m such a night owl!).

Exersize: Brisk walking all around town.

Day 3

I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone – and how at hardly no point (bar a few hours in the afternoon on the first day) have I felt hungry or dizzy!

I wake up yet again feeling super energised; I even go to a morning Body Pump class! Albeit heavy exercise is not recommended (you should ideally be sticking to yoga, pilates, brisk walking, etc.) – I have so much energy and just listen to my body. I feel fine afterwards, but I’m pretty ready for my next juice to say the least! I have another relatively busy day, and take a couple of juices with me on-the-go.

I have so much energy throughout the day (even though I had a hard class in the morning), and at no point did I feel particularly weak, lightheaded or hungry. Actually, I feel pretty amazing – and I feel like I could easily go on for a few more days!

Result?

I know; I’ve made the whole thing sound pretty easy! I have to say, I drink juices a lot. As mentioned, my breakfast often consists of just a smoothie or a juice together with some soaked oats, so my stomach (and mind) is pretty accustomed to a lot of liquid, vegetables and fruit, in the morning’s.

I was also particularly dedicated, as it was only a few weeks away from my wedding – that helped, sure. However, I cannot tell you again how delicious each juice was! They were put together perfectly – each flavour gave me that kick every two hours to keep going.

You have to be a pretty strong willed person to embark on a juice cleanse – but of the few I have tested, this one was by far the easiest, and tastiest! It’s the perfect kick-start for a cleaner and more healthier you; not only did I feel more fresh, less sluggish and clear minded – my skin was bright, my energy levels were high both during and after the cleanse, and sure, my stomach felt a lot flatter!

**Imbibery London currently only deliver to the central London area (hence the freshness of each juice!) – however I know they’re planning on expanding in the near future; follow them on Twitter & Instagram to stay connected!**
