WAY OUT WEST WITH ASOS

WAY OUT WEST WITH ASOS

A few weekends back, I had the pleasure of joining ASOS to Way Out West. With a killer line-up, set within the woodlands in the outskirts of Gothenburg – and lots of free time to explore the city in height of Scandinavian Summer – how could I resist?

First stop on the agenda for Day 1? Rooftop lunch and cocktails at the top of Hotel Bellora. The sun was shining, the beats were on and spirits were high.

Perfect start to our long weekend in Gothenburg.

After checking into Clarion Hotel Post in the city centre, I quickly unpacked and jumped into my new floral jumpsuit.

As it was forecasted rain all weekend, we lapped up the magical woodland setting, with the never-ending lake and beaming sunshine…

Festival food at it´s finest… Priding itself of being a 100% vegan and vegetarian festival (music to my ears) – the choices of delicious food was pretty much endless.

James Bay killing´it, as always.

On Day 2, as predicted, the weather changed, with a windy and rainy start to the day. Luckily, ASOS came well prepared, and kitted us out in parkas, rain macs and wellies.

We had some free time in the morning, so walked into town for a spot of lunch and some shopping.

wow-17 wow-19Artilleriet is an absolute must when in Gothenburg, and the ultimate interiors heaven. The perfect balance of rustic charm, meets Scandinavian eclecticism – with so many unique finds.

wow-22 wow-25After some window shopping, we went to da Matteo and feasted on plates of local cakes and pastries. I was in heaven, having grown up with traditional Scandinavian ´kanelboller` (cinnamon buns) – these were some of the best I have come across. Not to mention, Scandinavians do the BEST coffee.

This parka though… LOVE.

After our session in the city, we popped to the festival (only 10 minutes in the car from our hotel), to watch some more music, finished by an obligatory braiding session at the ASOS tent.

Day 3 of WOW started off with no rain (YAY) – which meant I could finally wear my new silk bomber – one of my favourite pieces from this weekend´s festival wardrobe.

The skies cleared making way for the sunshine, just as one of my favourite acts, Jamie XX took to the stage.

Braids out and a smooth (ish) mane.

A quick change in-between the acts, and we even made some time for an hour of cultural activity in the outskirts of the city – at Roda Sten Konsthall (a showcase of emerging local talent).

Wearing yet another perfect festival piece – with this super fun khaki jacket with pom poms. Such a great statement style, yet surprisingly, so versatile and easy to wear.

More cake (!).

In the early evening, we jumped in a taxi to see the last of the acts (did I mention SIA was performing!?). The perfect end to a great weekend.
