A black summer dress might not be the first choice when investing in your new season wardrobe this season, but for me personally, black is always a winner. Especially when the dress in question is in the softest cotton, with thin layers of ruffles and lace broderie (oh, and it´s signed by Isabel Marant).
It´s quickly becoming ´the` dress from Marant´s diffusion line Étoile, and for me personally, it had my name written all over it. You know I´m generally a big fan of monochrome, tonal and muted colours, and I probably wear black a lot more than I should; but the trick (in summer especially), is finding that style with the perfect bridge point…
This dress, with the frilly lace, and feminine girly skirt length and style, has all the softness I would want in that perfect summer dress – but in a colour which adds more edge and versatility to it; toning down the ruffles, the delicate lower back detail, lightweight cotton and shorter length. Not to mention, it´s the perfect holiday dress investment if you´re looking for that ONE style to bring with you – taking you from beachside over a bikini, or with some slinky stilettos when you´re ready to party. It´s not leaving my sight this summer – that´s for sure.
My new bag from L.K.Bennett is another new accessory winner in my wardrobe. The colour is perfection and although slightly similar to my tan Gucci Soho in terms of size and shape; it´s in this super fresh light grey, which again, goes with everything I own. I also love the double zip and two separate compartments, which makes organisation a whole load easier.
Now, it´s just countdown to my mini vacay to Spain next Friday… I´ve got a feeling this outfit (and dress, especially), will be a clear favourite.
