I am at my happiest when close to the seaside – and have been incredibly fortunate growing up less than five minutes away from the Norwegian fjords, spending my childhood summers on our boat, and travelled and experienced some of the best beaches…
My favourite spots so far? Bondi Beach in Sydney, Formentera just outside Ibiza, Tulum in Mexico, Paradise Cove in Malibu, the entire Big Sur coastline, and all of the beaches in Fiji (not forgetting about stunning and local coastal spots her in the UK, such as Portmerian in Wales, Sandbanks and Lulworth Cove). I am off to the Maldives in September, and I am pretty confident that will top them all!
But it´s not all about the picturesque beaches and steaming hot summer days… I´ve had some of my most memorable walks on the rocky coastline in Norway during frosty conditions by our summer house. There is something about that clean and fresh air, the smell and the moisture… Sure, a glorious day at a sandy white beach is priceless, but any proximity to the ocean will always get me.
So when Anna and I were approached by iconic outerwear brand, Barbour, to be digital brand ambassadors for their seaside inspired Seafarer collection – experiencing their heritage with a trip to Tynemouth on the North East coast – it was a no brainer. I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend a day on the seaside (whilst tucking into the freshest lobster from Riley´s Fish Shack?).
