This year´s flown by so quickly… 2015 has definitely been an incredible 12 months; so many travels, challenges, adventures, meeting new friends, re-kindling old relationships, launching a new wellness website, renovating, decorating and selling our old property, buying our first house, exciting collaborations, turning 30, re-branding this blog, focusing on a healthy body and mind – all whilst planning for an even more exciting 2016…
I´ve always been a big fan of new years resolutions; it´s the perfect time to really take a look at the year which has just gone by and setting concrete goals and plans for a new, unknown year. Here are some of my New Years Resolutions for 2016…
1. BE MORE CONTENT
Stop up and really look at what I´ve achieved, appreciating what I already have in my life, instead of focusing on all the things I don´t have.
2. NO REGRETS
Everything happens for a reason, and one of the main things for 2016 is following my gut feeling, stop dwelling about the past – always looking ahead…
3. IF YOU´RE THINKING ABOUT IT, DO IT
I´m working on a few very exciting projects for 2016, one in particular I have been wanting to do for a very long time – and this is the year to realise it! Life doesn’t wait for you, so go out and DO IT.
4. BE MORE DECISIVE
I am the worst at making consise decisions (my husband knows this too well); I am always deliberating, overthinking and analysing everything, even about the smallest little thing… 2016 is the year of being more decisive and carefree!
5. SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY
Living in another country from my family is not easy (even if it´s just a 2-hour plane ride away); but being a freelancer gives me so much more freedom to travel when I want, which I´m planning on making the most of this year.
6. BE WITH PEOPLE WHO LIFT ME HIGHER
You think you know who your true friends are, especially when you turn 30 and things are more settled and stable – but people change, you change… Surrounding myself with people who make me feel good, are kind, supportive, and happy for me regardless – is more important to me than anything.
7. STRONG, NOT SKINNY
I admit, I´ve spent too many years wanting to be very slim – but I´m now finally learning to love my body as it is, wanting to fuel it with goodness, rather than deprive it; keeping it active to make it strong for the future, instead of wearing it out for short term goals.
8. STOP COMPARING MYSELF TO OTHERS
I´ve talked about this before in this post; the danger of spending too much time comparing myself to other people´s social media “realities”; focusing on my own thing makes me so much happier!
9. BALANCE, NOT PERFECTION
Because life is too short not to enjoy it!
And with that, I am wishing you a Happy New Year, and an incredible year ahead!
True, I’m with you on all nine, lets make 2016 an even better year then 2015
