What a year 2016 has been! So much has happened, so much has changed, so much still to come in the pipeline… 2016 for me has definitely been the year of travelling! With Cyprus, Spain, Greece, New York (twice), L.A, Maldives, Oslo, Dallas and Venice, on the list so far, I´m feeling very blessed, that´s for sure. But nothing comes for free, and there has been a lot of hard work and grafting to get where I am now in terms of being able to travel, run this blog, and ultimately, be doing what I love. I am a firm believer that you can really achieve anything you want in life, if you just put your back into it…
I get a lot of questions asking me how I ended up where I am today, why I chose this path, what my key to success is. I really believe that success is not defined by how much money you have in your bank, how many air miles you’ve got or how many fancy possessions you own… The key to success – in my opinion – is being in a position of truly loving what you do – whatever it is. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t come with a high flying title, numerous accolades, or has a huge bonus at the end of the year (although this never goes amiss). Being in a position where you look forward to every day and where work doesn’t feel like work, because you’re doing something which makes you happy, is in my eyes, a very successful achievement.
That´s not to say, you can’t have good and bad days – we all do. The amount of times I have spent doubting my self, comparing myself to others, not feeling good enough… Sadly, it happens to all of us, far too often. But the key is to pick yourself up, keep going strong, set yourself clear and achievable goals with specific time lines to work towards, and you will get there, eventually!
Staying organised is definitely key in anything you do, so I always make sure I diarise all my goals and plans on every Sunday – so I know what I´m aiming to achieve and get done that week. I love my new watch from Skagen, which has definitely been a personal saviour to make sure I am always on time and en route to meetings. I don’t wear watches often, so when I do, I like them to be super minimal – not so much a statement piece – rather just a great style which complements the outfit, kind of like the cherry on top. Silver was a clear choice for me, as it goes so well with my otherwise relatively simple and neutral style – and paired with this gorgeous bangle, the overall look remains clean, yet feminine.
…not to mention this super slick backpack. I am obsessed with this style at the moment, so much easier to carry around when you’re running from meeting to meeting! In the softest grey leather, this backpack is super chic, as well as being really practical. Always a winning combo.
I am so lucky to have found what makes me tick, something to be excited about every day. I love fashion, travel, styling, beauty… But what I love even more, is being able to (hopefully) inspire you guys – be it with clothes, lifestyle, beauty choices, interior… And how lucky am I, to have such lovely readers to share it with!
“Dream, believe, achieve” – definitely an on-going motto of mine!

Thanks Minau! x
I love this post, very inspiring. I really think you have a good point, the hardest thing is not doing something, but continue doing it when you are having a bad day and to pick yourself up! Loved it!
