MY GO-TO MORNING TONIC (WHICH HAS CHANGED MY BODY & SKIN)

MY GO-TO MORNING TONIC (WHICH HAS CHANGED MY BODY & SKIN)

My immune system is pretty solid and I seldom get ill. I think the last time I had a cold or a flu was well over a year ago, and then it was only that one time (sorry if I´m sounding super annoying right now). But I swear it´s because of my diet and the level of immune-boosting ingredients that´s in my daily diet, such as citrus fruits, tons of ginger and daily doses of turmeric… For the past few months, I have religiously been drinking this daily morning tonic, and I swear, not only have I not picked up any bugs or germs; my energy levels are so much better – which is pretty ideal during the darker winter months…

…all the ingredients are pretty easy to get hold of for this tonic, except for turmeric root perhaps. I actually ordered a large fresh bulk off Amazon, peeled them all (you gotta´have patience with this!) and froze the load. Super handy and easy!

You might find the taste of this tonic quite acidic at first, but you´ll (hopefully) get used to it, and in a matter of no time, it will be your new go-to morning drink! I always have it first thing on an empty stomach right before my breakfast, and it instantly gives me that boost of energy, which comes from the Vitamin C – and really kick starts my metabolism. The ginger and turmeric also has so many natural healing properties to help with inflammation (muscle pains and soreness), upset stomachs, nausea, immunity and helps detoxify the liver.  Not to mention, these ingredients are amazing for skin, hair, nails to boost that natural glow we´re all after… In other words – it´s the ultimate power cocktail.

The below recipe is just for 1 serving, but I tend to prepare a huge batch for the week, so just adjust the ingredients accordingly! I store the liquid in a large juice jug in the fridge, so the drink literally takes less then 2 minutes to whizz together. If you´re looking for more of a shot, just half the ingredients, and skip the water, for a real boost of energy.

Hope you love it as much as I do!

Would this drink work as well with turmeric and ginger in powder form?

Philips or Heston Blumenthal from John Lewis – both excellent brands/juicers.
