MY DAY AT BICESTER VILLAGE

MY DAY AT BICESTER VILLAGE

There´s no denying it, I love a good bargain. Especially good quality and coveted designer scoops. So when my good friend and fellow blogger Anna suggested a girls day shopping trip to Bicester Village, the go-to Designer Outlet in the UK – I was there in a heartbeat (quite literally).

I like to plan as much as I can before embarking on a pre-planned shopping excursion – especially when it comes to outlets, where stock is more limited. After scouting out the designers and brands I wanted to visit in advance – and honing down what investment pieces I actually needed (always a good idea to have yes and no´s in mind) – we jumped on the train from London Marylebone directly to Bicester Village (in only 46 min!). I can see myself making this a regular occurrence…

But first things´s first – lunch! After seeing countless of lust worthy images from Farmshop (the cutest café, part of the Soho House group) – we began our day feasting on Goats Cheese and Beetroot Salad, with lots of tea and fresh juice. After eating and nattering away, we were ready to hit the shops!

One thing we were particularly excited about was checking out all the new spring stock! I am getting pretty fed up with the dark and heavy winter collections, so it was nice to get a injection of lighter styles and fresh colour palettes…

Bicester really has it all. From Stella McCartney, Sandro, Tod´s, Celiné, Fendi, Gucci, Kenzo, Valentino, Balenciga (see full brand list here)… It´s pretty easy to get overwhelmed, especially if you´re not hunting for something specific. There´s a lot to choose from, and a little insider tip is to ask for more styles from the stockroom, if the colour or style you´re after isn´t on display (this is particularly useful when it comes to bags).

Talking about bags… My intention was to to scoop up one from either Saint Laurent or Celiné – two of my go-to bag designers. And although there was a great selection to choose from, I am so picky when it comes to my bags and I knew exactly what I was after (a classic cross-body bag). Sadly, I didn´t find the one. Of course, the price is great, compared to the full price retail – but with any investment, I always need to be 100% sure. Luckily, they have new drops quite often, and I gave my number to a few stores, who will be calling me if the style I´m after comes in. Fingers crossed…

Oh, and even though I´m much more into my bags – the shoe selection at Saint Laurent was pretty tempting too…

Although it was so re-freshing to see all the new season styles – I am forever tempted by shearling and leather – of which there was plentiful. I particularly regret not picking up this long cream coat from Celiné – the ideal investment piece.

So after realising I was not going to leave with my dream bag – the hunt for something else shiny and new continued. It didn´t take long until I´d picked up some other great buys…

My buys?

THE ALLSAINTS SHEARLING BIKER

No surprise, it was pretty much love at first sight when I spotted this dream of a shearling biker from AllSaints. It had been on my wish list when it first dropped into stores last year, but a bit too pricey at the time.

This was certainly a coveted scoop – and a piece which will no doubt last me for years and years. The best part with it? It has adjustable arms; meaning you can have it cropped (which I prefer) or long (if it’s cold). Perfect! Full outfit of me wearing it in action, coming soon.

 LE CREUSET KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

As well as Celiné and Prada – Bicester also have a great selection of homeware – from The White Company, Ralph Lauren, to one of my favourites – cult classic, Le Creuset. I can´t tell you how long I´ve waited to invest in one of their classic black ceramic dishes – and whilst I was there, I did (evidently) go a bit mad (I blame it on the savings). But their pieces are so timeless, and opting for black is always a winner (which luckily slots very nicely into our new kitchen!).

THE KENZO SWEATER

You all know I am weak for a good statement sweater – and one thing I´ve been lusting after for a good while, is a classic Kenzo jumper. I was tempted to go for the more original one with the brand logo, but when I spotted this one from their SS15 collection (which had luckily just dropped in the day before) – I was sold. I love the fresh blue colour and well, Paris, will always hold a place in my heart.

All in all, a very successful (and fun) trip! Although I didn’t end up with a bag I was after, I´m so happy with the rest of my purchases – two classic wardrobe essentials and the ultimate kitchen additions. Mission completed.

LOVE all the items, I haven’t been to Bicester Village in ages and it definitely seems to have improved!

Is it bad that I’m also lusting after your kitchen cabinet handles? Do you know where they are from?

I’m well overdue a trip to Bicester Village, so many amazing brands are there now compared to when I last went. It’s a shame you didn’t find your dream bag but what you did get was gorgeous – I love the All Saints jacket! x

I would like to show thanks to you just for bailing me out of this this particular trouble. As a result of checking through the net and meeting techniques that was not productive, I released my life was done.
