MONTHLY FAVOURITES #33

MONTHLY FAVOURITES #33

How is it nearly March already? 2017 is going far too quick for my liking (although I´m loving the sudden burst of the warmer, spring weather). Needless to say, I am still firmly rooted within my darker and more tonal colour palette, but I am getting pretty excited for all the fresh colours that are hitting the stores! But for now, here are the classic (and tonal) pieces that I am loving, as well my latest beauty must-have´s, and other favourite trinkets…

I am massively into black lace at the moment; mainly in the shape of tops (scroll down for the lace top of the season) – but evidently when it comes to lingerie too, as I just invested in this classic black lace set from ERES, and I am in love. The detailing is just so stunning, not to mention the shape being perfect; comfortable, yet ultra feminine and elegant (the perfect combo).

I love me a good roll-neck jumper, and my favourite so far this season belongs to Karen Millen with this boxy and soft style in pale grey. Not only is it super soft and hopefully will last me for a very long time; the shape is really flattering, which goes with everything from a midi skirt, to skinny jeans.

The prettiest slippers I ever did see, belongs to The White Company, with these feather Pom Pom Ballet Slippers in grey. They are literally the most comfortable things ever (they haven´t left my feet for weeks), and you just can´t argue with that price point…

Now, to the black lace top of my dreams from Monsoon… I mean, it´s just perfection; the frills, the high neck, the sleeve detailing, the fit… I haven´t had that many compliments for a top in a long time, and have been wearing it either as part of an all-time black ensemble, or with casual jeans – it works with anything. And the best part, it´s just been re-stocked, so get it while you can!

Now, here is what I have been using on my hair for the past few weeks, and I am not even kidding – not only has my hair grown a few inches; it´s become so much thicker and smoother to manage! The best part? These are ALL brands using natural ingredients – so even better for my mane. I haven´t had much luck with natural hair care in the past, so I´ve been pleasantly surprised with the below..

I have been washing my hair with Elemental Herbology Shiny Locks – a highly cleansing and softening shampoo infused with lavender and honey, to help thicken, add volume and shine – followed by Elemental Herbology´s Hair Souffle – a deeply moisturising conditioner, containing shea Butter, jojoba and rosemary, which revitalises the hair leaving it feeling super glossy and nourished.

After I´ve washed and conditioned, I´ve been treating my locks to Rahua´s Hair Detox & Renewal Treatment Kit – enriched with healing oils, this treatment is designed to revive damaged hair and nourish your scalp. This all-natural treatment removes synthetic build-up and environmental residue, while infusing your strands with plant-based nutrients – leaving your tresses looking and feeling strong and healthy (I can vouch for that!).

The final step, and one thing I like to do after every hair wash, is use Dr. Hauschka´s Hair & Scalp Tonic – which strengthens keratin and prevents breakage, and with a blend of rosemary, borage and horse chestnut, it promotes healthy hair follicles and improves manageability. The formula also works to nourish and rebalance an oily or dry scalp, restoring long-lasting comfort. And the best part? It´s non-greasy and lightweight, so you can expect calm, invigorated tresses with luminous shine from root to tip. YAY.

The following skincare product has been life-changing for me (and the only reason I didn’t include it in this beauty post, is because I had run out at the time!). Anyways, it´s the Erborian CC Creme, a Korean skincare brand – and without sounding too superficial, it´s totally changed my life. I apply it for day-time, after my cleansing, serum and regular moisturiser, and with it´s amazing universal shade, it covers everything – leaving me with such a dewy, fresh and radiant glow. I hardly need to apply any make-up on afterwards; I only dap a bit of concealer underneath my eyes, pop some lippy on and a few strokes of mascara, and that´s my every day face complete. Loaded with CC pigments (colour controllers) – not only does it enhance, it adjust your skin tone and highlights all the good parts. Clearly, I cannot recommend this product enough.

A more recent addition to my skincare range, from the same brand, is the Erborian Glow Creme. Which I apply after the CC Creme, for that added luminous blur effect, and fresh complexion. It´s a multi-benefit cream, which not only illuminates, but promotes a lightweight, fresh, dewy and flawless finish. These two products combined, is a recipe for perfect looking skin.

From skincare, to my new favourite desk scent – The White Company Day Candle… With a delicate sweetness of jasmine and apple, infused with aromatic cedarwood and a burst of bergamot, it´s the dreamiest scent to fill my study with, whilst I am working away…

My new square hoops from Edge of Ember – are the perfect statement earrings, yet neutral and classic with the brass and pearl detailing. I have been wearing them just about every day (a good investment, in other words).

Last but not least, I got these super chic lace up flatform trainers from Dune – in a nice and neutral khaki colour. I love the extra height, yet they’re lightweight and slim to wear with anything from dresses, leather skinnies and jeans…

Tune in next month for my March favourites!
