MONTHLY FAVOURITES #30

Anyone else feeling super festive? I know I am. I love November as its the first month where you can actually start thinking and preparing for the festive season (which naturally makes me very happy). It´s a nice chill in the air, and I am loving getting my winter wardrobe in check, switching my skincare for the colder months, and aquiring some essential additions for the coming months… Here are this month´s favourites.

My current must-have hair product is Windle & Moodie´s Light Shine Spray. It gives instant, weightless shine and polish to your mane – without altering your hair texture whatsoever. Perfect.

Hitting the big 3-0, I am more conscious (and careful) then ever when it comes to my skincare. I have been using Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 for the past month, and I am amased by the result. It contains a 2:4:2 cholesterol-dominant ratio – which helps restore your skin´s moisture whilst supporting the natural self-repair process. You skin is left feeling ultra soft and nourished (yet never clogged up). Ideal for ageing skin, it really improves the visible appearance of skin smoothness, pores, and overall radiance; and although it´s pricey – it´s result driven.

Byredo – my all time favourite perfume brand, recently launched their “An Unnamed Perfume” campaign, where you guessed it, the perfume comes blank – and you can name it whatever you want (this is done manually and comes with the perfume kit). I didn’t go overboard or overly complicated with the name – other than naming it the first thing that I felt when I smelt it – which was the feeling of Love.

With winter upon us, I´m upping my intake of supplements, making sure my body´s getting what it needs with the colder weather and darker days. One of my favourites is Neal´s Yard Remedies Organic Cocoa Complex – a tasty and comforting blend with mood-enhancing cocoa with organic blueberry, shiitake mushroom, maca and ashwaghanda – contributing to the reduction or tiredness and fatigue. You can add it to water, smoothies, porridge, cereal or a dessert – it´s delicious!

I am keeping super snuggly with my two new knits. The red one from Isabel Marant Étoile (similar here) and this super cute striped cashmere knit from Chinti & Parker which I picked up from Bicester Village from their recently launched British Wool Collective. I am sucker for statement knits, which look so good with simple jeans and boots – these two are definite winners.

I have always been into face masks, but at the moment, I am loving one-time sheet masks. Current faves? Gold Collagen Hydrogel Mask – developed for dehydrated and tired-looking skin. Enriched with hyaluronic acid, pearl extract and botanical complex – it gives intense moisture, improves skin hydration, texture and radiance. I am also a big fan of Rodial´s Pink Diamond Lifting Mask – providing intense hydration and moisture to the skin, with a skin tightening complex to enhance the appearance of facial contours. Your skin is left firmer and brighter, with a more radiant glow.

So many of my friends swear by Laura Mercier´s products, so I thought I´d give it a go. My favourites so far is their Face Illuminator – highlighting the skin using light-reflecting pearls for a luminous finish and healthy glow, complementing all skin tones – and their Silk Creme Photo Edition Foundation – a long-wearing full coverage formula, for a photo-ready and natural matte finish.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of classic suede Chelsea boots for the winter. I recently invested in these ones from Unisa – which are plain and simply, just perfect; comfortable, slim, and with the perfect heel height for every day.

I am a huge fan of Olympus, and having used my trusted PEN camera for the last 2-3 years – I was pretty excited when they announced they were launching an improved and upgraded version, with the E-PL8 model. The team invited me out to Greece back in October for the big reveal, giving me an opportunity to test drive the camera before it launched, and I was blown away. The level of clarity and sharpness is incredible, combined with it being super easy to use, lightweight and so pretty too look at… I´ve had the white one for years, so I decided to opt for the classic black this time around. I literally don’t leave the house without it; and it´s basically every bloggers dream with the easy and instant transfer of photos to your phone, video setting, flat lay function, selfies, travel photos… It does it all.

I pretty much live in my furry slippers all year round (my feet are always cold), and as I wear them so much, I tend to get a new pair (or two) every winter – so they’re bouncy and fresh during the colder months. I usually go for classic styles in black or tan, but fancied a bit of a change this time around, and opted for this zebra printed slip-on style from EMU, and these handmade sheepskin moccasin slippers from The Small Home. Cozy!

I’ve heard so many good things about the Olympus Pen – I might have to invest in one at some point
