I know I said June was one of my favourite months, but July might just top them all (which might have something to do with it being my birthday month!). It´s also the main time to holiday, and you all know how much I live my life for my vacays! Here is what I´ve been loving so far this month – from summer skincare staples, new swimwear, the designer sandals which are finally (!) mine, the perfect boho blouse, and lots more…
Now, let´s not beat around the bush and let´s get straight onto the shoes! I have been lusting after the Valentino Rockstud flats for what seems forever. And after spotting these babies on Vestiare Collective (my go-to second hand designer destination), I took the plunge. Only worn once, and in excellent condition, they have (so far) proven to be the best buy.
My new bikini belongs to Aussie brand, Peony Swimwear… Not usually one for overly feminine floral prints; I was won over by the subdued, fresh mint and blue colour palette of this one, which looks great with a tan.
A strong rival to my Gucci Soho (and definitely a more affordable option), is the Saffiano Cross-Body bag from L.K Bennett. A big fan of anything in grey, this vintage camera case inspired bag, with contrasting gold hardware – is my new wardrobe must, and also happens to be the perfect summer accessory to go with anything and everything.
I´ve been a big fan of Malin & Goetz for years; it started off with their scented candle, and now I´m a firm advocate of their skincare too. I was kindly sent a preview of their latest and much anticipated launch of Recovery Treatment Oil. This facial treatment is comprised of 9 natural oils and powerful anti-oxidants formulated to help combat signs of aging and renew skin’s appearance; with evening primrose, argan, jojoba, rosehip, grapes, geranium and borage oils! I mean, if this won´t work wonders on your skin, I don´t know what will.
My weeks are never the same, but mostly I am home for enough days that I can do my weekly food prep to ensure I eat healthy on-the-go. But for the times when I am super busy and don’t even have time for this; I am loving Bol Salad Jars at the moment (available at supermarkets across the country). With super fresh ingredients, a fresh dressing and fork included, all you need to do is dress and shake!
From food – to my latest skincare indulgence from Estee Lauder, with Advanced Night Repair, one of their bestselling ranges. I have been using their Intensive Recovery Ampoules aimed at irritated and stressed skin, and to protect against environmental damage, lack of sleep, travel, even changes of season or weather (in other words – the ideal skincare investment for during the summer months). It´s during the nighttime your skin has time to heal, and these ampoules are reinforcing your skin’s nightly renewal.
For an extra boost when I feel I need it, I also love their Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Masks – which are weekly treatment masks, for that instant boost to for fresh and renewed skin. With a high-performance foil-backed sheet infused with Hyaluronic Acid, to create that protective barrier and locking in moisture; each treatment delivers a double dose of the Advanced Night Repair Serum. These are ideal post long-haul travelling, of after a sun drenched and dehydrating holiday, or just in general when you need that added boost!
I´ve had these cat-eye shades from Fendi for a while now, and they’ve definitely proven to be the best investment (in terms of cost per wear). They go with everything; from formal events, to a more casual, weekend style.
More beauty essentials, this time from Créme de la Mer – with their limited edition Blue Heart created especially for World Oceans Day. In all honesty, I never thought I would get to try anything from this iconic skincare brand, so the excitement levels were high. Inspired by the bright blue and green waters of the sea, the design is a bottle of pure summer… With the nutrient-rich Miracle Broth, skin is moisturised, soothed and radiance restored. The secret to it all? Activate the cream by warming it for a few seconds between the fingers until it becomes translucent, then pressed gently into the skin. Pure luxury in a bottle.
I´ve been using natural skincare brand, Elemental Herbology´s Vital Cleanse on and off for a few years now (and for good reason!). Infused with calming manuka honey to minimise breakouts and brighten skin, papaya extract to exfoliatie and smooth, grapefruit and mandarin essential oils to help unclog pores and detoxify, and green tea, to protect and re-fresh. The best part? It´s all natural.
The perfect summer boho top from London brand Pampelone, created by my gorgeous friend Holly Anna Scarsella… The perfect lightweight embroidered cotton and effortless fit, which is the ideal piece to take you from beach to party (preferably somewhere along the Cote D’Azur…). Topped off with a beauty essential from Aerin´s Rose Lip Balm, to keep summer lips soft and rosy.
