I am so proud to say that my 7-day juice cleansing is now done! It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, which to be honest – I didn’t think I had the patience, willpower, or time for. But in all honesty, who can’t do anything for just seven days? Preparation is key, and I would definitely recommend getting the literature a few weeks in advance (from whichever juice programme you decide to go for) and study it properly, so you can both mentally, and physically prepare for what you are about to put your body through.
In preparation for my 7-day cleanse, I have had to gather a few (a lot) of bits in the last few days. I’ve already got my juicer, and now a brand new Philips blender (essential for the avocado, banana, ice cubes, etc.), the 7-day cleanse book (by Jason Vale), a whole load of food shopping from Wholefoods (note, not all ingredients for the juice cleansing) and some final grocery shopping last night from my local supermarket to keep it all fresh.
I started my Bikram Yoga boot camp over a month ago, and I have never felt more revitalized, relaxed and toned. I’m always really cold, so I love anything that involves heat. You either hate or love Bikram Yoga – the heat it seriously intense and overwhelming. It’s constantly testing, and changes for every session. Some days I can do a full backward bend without any issues, and other times, it makes me feel sick and dizzy.
One thing I quickly realized I needed to invest in, was a lightweight, long towel with grips. When you sweat so much, you need to keep your balance, and this towel definitely does the trick with it’s double sided anti-slip and high absorbency elements .

I picked up these Nike Free Run 5.0 trainers in New York a few weeks ago. You might remember they were on my wish list a while back (well, in lime green). Unfortunately I couldn’t hunt those specific ones down, but I already had something like these ones on my mind. Lime green, maybe not so versatile? I opted for the safer choice; black, white and a touch of pink. Love them!
They’re so comfortable and look great with a more dressed up outfit, such as skinny jeans and a silk skirt – or even with a dress or skirt (seen on so many stylish girls in NYC).
You can customize your own ones here (my colour-way is on there as well).
I was recommended Planet Organic by my nutritionist a few weeks ago, so I popped in to the Westbourne Grove branch today to buy a few bits she suggested. I was impressed by the store – it had a a fresh groceries and deli section, a manageable shopping area (I can’t handle too many choices when I food shop), and even a café in the corner. Definitely one of my new favorite food shops!
The part I loved most of my Personal Training sessions was the boxing. The perfect way to release stress and aggravation – both of which comes from city life. Boxing is also a really effective, and fun way to tone up your body.
I am done with my PT sessions for now, but decided to buy this boxing kit from Amazon – Adidas Response Boxing Gloves & Focus Pads – to continue parts of the training at home (with some help from my boyfriend with the focus pads).
So I ended up returning the white Easytone trainers for the black ones instead. I much prefer them as they are slimmer, more lightweight and they will look better together with my black gym-leggings I just ordered yesterday!
