MY SUMMER PACKING LIST FOR TRAVELLING WITH A BABY

June 7, 2018
IMG_1102

I’m by no means proclaiming to be an expert in travelling with a baby, with Rio being just 8 months old – but in his short life so far, we’ve already been on three holidays abroad (one long-haul), as well as numerous of travels within the UK (and preparing for Ibiza in just a few days) – so there’s been a fair share of packing, organising and planning! And following quite a lot of requests from you guys, I thought I would share my go-to packing list for travelling with a baby during the summer with all my must-haves…  Continue Reading

MUMMY DIARIES: A 6-MONTH UPDATE

April 12, 2018
Facetune_11-03-2018-16-43-33

I can’t believe my baby boy is 6-months today. I know they say time flies when you have children, but seriously – where has the time gone?! It genuinely doesn’t feel like six months since I went into the hospital… In so many ways I feel like everything is happening way to fast, and he’s growing up too quickly. Then on the other hand, I’m just loving seeing Rio developing. I feel like every single day that goes by, he’s getting more alert and curious, and it truly is the most rewarding feeling in the world. So scroll down if you want to read about Rio’s updated routine, sleep update, first weeks of weaning, my journey with breastfeeding, what activities he’s been enjoying now that he’s a bit older, and lastly, how I’m finding time for myself…

PERSONALISED BABY GIFT IDEAS

March 15, 2018
Facetune_13-03-2018-17-46-30

Whether it’s for a baby shower, birthday present or christening… I often struggle with kids gifts. With that said, it’s not like we’re running short of choice or anything, with the amount of stuff out there now. It’s all about finding that extra special gift, one that stands out a bit more, and which feels out of the ordinary… You might already have noticed that I’m sucker for monogramming and personalising a lot of my things (who isn’t?), and since becoming a mama, I’ve definitely been adding that personal touch to many of Rio’s things as well. So, after some requests from you guys to share baby gift ideas here on the blog – I decided to team up with My 1st Years – my go-to site for all things personalised, picking out some of my favourite items this season…

MY NURSING FRIENDLY STYLE EDIT

March 12, 2018
IMG_6499

Hey fellow mamas (or mamas to be!). Apologies that this has taken a while to pull together (you know, life happens + a 5 month old baba!) – but here it is: a round up of all my favourite nursing friendly pieces (all affordable from the high street, of course), along with some style recommendations and tips. I’m not proclaiming to be a master expert by any means – as most of the time, I just tend to get on with it, and basically wear what I like. When that said, when I know I’m out and about for a full day, or I’m going to a restaurant/cafe to meet friends in public – I make sure I adjust accordingly to make the whole process easier – and have therefore rounded up the typical style of clothing, and pieces that I can’t live without when it comes to nursing out and about.

MINI STYLE FOR SPRING

March 9, 2018
Facetune_07-03-2018-21-05-37

There’s no real surprise that I have become pretty obsessed with Rio’s wardrobe (nearly as much as mine!). I’m loving discovering all the various kids brands (which is obviously a totally new territory for me), creating outfits and building a real look for our little man. Sam is pretty involved in his outfit choices too (already an evidence in Rio’s ever growing trainer collection!). We both have a pretty minimal and neutral style, and it’s not surprising that we’ve naturally conveyed that in terms of what brands and quality of clothing we have been investing in for Rio…

MUMMY DIARIES: A 4/5-MONTH UPDATE

March 1, 2018
IMG_3633

I can’t believe I’m writing this, and Rio is nearly 5 months old in just a few weeks. It still feels like yesterday, when he was as light as a feather, I was a walking zombie (gladly, no more), and everything was all so new and exciting/exhausting/surreal… So much has changed since my last update, when Rio was just over 3 months. Not only has he nearly doubled in size, but he’s really developed into a proper little person with a proper personality! My routine has also changed and evolved, the sleep situation is better, and now that he’s older, there are more fun ways to play and activities we can do together! And finally, after months of trying and testing – I have summarised what baby essentials and brands we can’t live without…  Continue Reading

January 25, 2018
rio-1 (1 of 1)

I can’t believe how fast time has flown by, and that Rio is now 15 weeks already… I’ve been getting a lot of requests to share more about motherhood with Rio – my schedule, sleep, activity, etc. So I thought I would give you guys a little insight into what I’ve been doing, what’s worked/what hasn’t worked, and why I decided to create a routine with him already at 7 weeks….

MY BIRTH STORY

January 9, 2018
rio (26 of 28)

I know a lot of you have been curious about my labour and what happened in the end… Especially as I had been sharing so much with you all in the lead up to everything – via my Baby Diaries series, and not to mention, my journey with Hypnobirthing and our birthing preferences. I say ‘preferences’ instead of ‘plan’ – as I was fully aware that things don’t always happen the way you want it to – yet, I was never quite prepared for how extreme that would be in the end, with it taking over 50 hours from start to finish…  Continue Reading

Anneli Bush-11

I am so excited to finally share the long awaited (and requested) nursery tour with you guys! I have been fortunate enough to have renovated several properties in the past, with lots of different rooms to decorate and style – but this particular space has been the most memorable and special one to do up (for obvious reasons!), and definitely my proudest work to date…  Continue Reading

If there is ever a time to be over-sentimental and soppy, it’s around Christmas! Which also just happens to be my favourite time of the year – I feel like I’m always just so happy and excited the whole of December. And needless to say, this year is going to be a very special one for us, with our new little precious bundle of joy…

MY TOP POST-PREGNANCY BEAUTY & WELLNESS ESSENTIALS

November 23, 2017
beauty (6 of 6)

My pregnancy seems so far away, a lot longer than just 5 weeks ago… And although I overall really enjoyed being pregnant, the last month before labour was incredibly hard on my body. So in the time after the birth, I was more than ready to start getting my skin and body back on track. And granted there has been very little time or energy for any pampering on my behalf – it’s been a great way to distinguish some real key beauty and wellness essentials that work in my new ‘mummy schedule’, when time is of an essence and I need products which really work, giving quick and instant results (don’t we all?).  Continue Reading

WELCOME TO THE WORLD, RIO EZRA BUSH

November 13, 2017

I guess you’ve all figured out why it’s been radio silence here on the blog, and if you follow me on Instagram, you would definetly know why… Sam and I welcomed our little baby boy to this world, Rio Ezra Bush, on the 12th October – and we could literally not be more in love. He is just perfect in every shape and form. And although the birthing plan went totally out the window and it took me nearly 50 hours (!) until we finally got to meet our little man, I would still do it all over again in a heartbeat. That instantaneous love, is indescribable.  Continue Reading

BABY DIARIES #7 | THIRD TRIMESTER UPDATES

October 7, 2017
baby-1 (1 of 2)

I am not going to lie, the third trimester has not been the easiest. Or, let me re-phrase that just a little bit – the last few weeks have not been the easiest. And it’s hard not to just focus on that, when I am in the middle of what is in my opinion, the hardest part of the pregnancy. I say ‘hard’ – as I am just days away from giving birth (hopefully just day, and not weeks – but who knows), and never have I felt so strange, swollen, sore, tender, heavy… Suddenly my bump has reached it’s maximum limit and space, and day-to-day things such as walking, breathing, sleeping, are becoming increasingly harder. When all of that said, I am of course so happy and positive as well – as I know I will soon be meeting my precious one, and we will finally be a family.

BABY DIARIES #6 | OUR JOURNEY WITH HYPNOBIRTHING

September 23, 2017
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Years and years ago, way before we had even started to think about having children – I was always so incredibly petrified by the thought of giving birth, the unknown, the excruciating pain – you know, everything we thought we knew about childbirth from watching various blockbuster movies and T.V… Fast forward 10 years, and I am weeks away from giving birth, and I am actually feeling incredibly excited, elated, empowered, and most importantly, so calm. And much of this, is thanks to my recent Hypnobirthing course, which has completely transformed my current state, and frame of mind (and certainly my idea of childbirth!). Continue Reading

9 MONTHS

September 19, 2017
IMG_2380

So we’re officially 9 months (and 11 days) pregnant today (yes, who knew pregnancy is actually 10 months long!), and it’s only just now where I both mentally and physically, am so ready to have this baby. Not only are we naturally super excited to meet the little one and see how he looks like after all of this time of waiting – but my body is really feeling it too, with the extra weight, constant tiredness, sluggishness and aching body. When that said, I have absolutely loved being pregnant, and loved seeing my growing bump week by week. So much so that I wanted to capture our 9 months of pregnancy, in one of our favourite spots in the U.K…

BABY DIARIES #5 | MY ESSENTIAL SHOPPING LIST

September 6, 2017
babydiaries (1 of 13)

I remember a few weeks after announcing my pregnancy, a few of my friends and various acquaintances started sending me all these ‘must-have’ shopping lists for the impending arrival of our baby. I mean, some of the lists were serious Excel spreadsheets, categorised and colour coded, with over 100 (!) items on them. To say I started to get slightly overwhelmed at this stage, would be a minor understatement (however grateful I was with the kind thought behind of providing me with this list). But I soon got on top of it, and managed to narrow it down, pinpointing my own essentials that would work for us…   Continue Reading

BABY DIARIES #4 | HOW TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY DIET DURING PREGNANCY

August 25, 2017
baby (1 of 5)

A lot of you guys have been asking me about my diet during my pregnancy. I was always very curious to see what my cravings would be, if I had start to introduce specific food groups such as dairy or meat (which are not usually part of my diet) to support the pregnancy, and just in general; what types of foods one should be having to stay healthy (with the occasional treats of course!). If you read my last Baby Diaries post, you would know that I was recently diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, which has meant that I’ve really had to alter my diet with a low sugar, low carb, high protein diet. The good thing is I will be super healthy for my baba – the annoying part (which is obviously very insignificant); no more treats for me! Fortunately, I have had the pleasure of teaming up with top London Clinical Nutritionist, Kamilla Schaffner, to guide me a long the way, and has also collated all her top tips for a healthy and wholesome pregnancy, as well as how to manage a low sugar diet if you happen to have Gestational Diabetes (or if you’re just looking to cut out sugar in general).
