Autumn is by far my favourite season of the year. It’s certainly the cosiest, with all the leaves changing colour and the colder temperatures setting in. Although I’m a self-confessed water baby, I always look forward to Autumn the most. Especially after the long and steaming summer we’ve just had, it feels so good reaching for chunky knits and hibernating inside in front of the fire with a big mug of tea. I also love this season because of the fresh air and all the incredible colours, which is also why it’s the time that I’m the most inspired when it comes to my home. Every season is an excuse to re-decorate. Nothing too drastic or crazy; just adding a few new pieces, textures and colours, to add a bit more warmth and cosy feeling to the rooms you spend the most time in… Continue Reading
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a thing for interiors. I used to re-arrange and re-style my bedroom near enough every week for years and years; I just loved playing around with objects, layouts and spaces (and still do to this day). My main thing was that I would so easily get bored with a certain look, so I would keep changing things around. Slightly annoying for my parents I guess, but at least it kept me entertained for hours! And although I’m much more confident and decisive when it comes to interiors now; that need for constant change and newness within my home is still there… Continue Reading
I am so excited to finally share the long awaited (and requested) nursery tour with you guys! I have been fortunate enough to have renovated several properties in the past, with lots of different rooms to decorate and style – but this particular space has been the most memorable and special one to do up (for obvious reasons!), and definitely my proudest work to date… Continue Reading
Following on from Part 1 one of my updated tour, I am super excited to share with you the rest of the house – with the remaining of the first floor, with my walk-in-wardrobe, and moving up to the second floor, with another two more bedrooms and a bathroom. To shortly recap from the first post, I decided to do this updated tour, following on from the original Before & After Home Tour I posted shortly after we’d just renovated – as after living here for nearly 5 years, things have naturally changed slightly and the home just feels a lot more lived in and well, homely. Hope you think so too! Continue Reading
This time around last year, I uploaded my first official Before & After Home Tour of our house, which we bought in November 2015, started renovating in December, and officially moved in February 2016. I can’t quite believe we have been here nearly two years already (well I can quite believe it, as we love it so much!) – but just in terms of it being the place we have lived in for the longest period of time (which is a record so far). Our circumstances with having a baby on it’s way in less than 5 weeks obviously plays a major part in staying, and of course, the house being pretty much perfect for all our needs, in terms of style, location and size. Now before I show you more of an updated version of the house one year later (as things have changed just slightly) – let me quickly run you through the specifics of the house…
I have been wanting a new sofa for our kitchen/lounge area, ever since we renovated and moved into our house back in February 2016. But the sofa we moved in with from our previous property, was such an easy option at first. Not to mention it was in a neutral dark grey (which perfectly matched our otherwise, neutral and grey colour palette), and the size was was the perfect fit for our corner space. So I left it. God knows I had enough on my plate, with the biggest renovation and decoration project to date! And then I kind of got used to it, as nothing was technically wrong with it. But after a while it just didn’t feel so fresh any longer, and the darker shade of grey, made the otherwise light and airy space much darker then it needed to be… So I decided to (finally) make a change. Click through for the transformation!
When it comes to interior updates within your home, you don´t necessarily have to spend a fortune, or be overly creative in order to make some real magic happen. With Spring in the air – here are some of my ultimate quick and easy interior hacks, that won´t break the bank, or take up all your precious time. Don´t forget; it´s always the little touches, the small updates and details, that can make all the difference.
Sleep is something I always took for granted – something which was easy, non-eventful, a daily occurrence which I never thought much about. That was until it started to become an issue; with sporadic spurts of insomnia, interrupted and broken nights, always a struggle to fall asleep, night sweats… Suddenly, that easy and carefree ritual, become a real-life struggle for me. Finally, my much awaited (and requested!) home tour is here! It’s taken me a while to pull it all together; although we actually purchased our house in November 2015, started renovations in December and completed it in February – the house has been a continuous and gradual labour of love…
Anyone who really knows me, will agree that I love to entertain. A lot. Nothing more makes me more excited than preparing a lunch or dinner party, gathering my loved ones and feeding them (yes, I´m a massive feeder too). I am no perfect host by any means, there are times when I totally flap and get stressed, wanting everything to be perfect (did I mention that I am perfectionist too?). But as soon as the party arrives, I crack open a bottle of wine, relax and enjoy the company and food… What life is all about, right?
Now that our house is just about ready (home tour coming very soon, I promise!) – the next project is our garden. We´ve finally have a decent size garden, it´s so exciting actually realistically looking and planning for what we really want!
Adding those personal touches to your home can make all the difference to the overall look and feel of your home. I love my decor relatively minimal, in neutral soft colours, but it´s so important to add those extra elements to make it look all the more special…
Sunday’s are just so good. And I love it because it´s totally OK to stay in my pyjamas until lunch time (right!?), I have time to catch up on my reading, bake batches of healthy muffins, set new plans and goals for the week ahead, go for a long afternoon walk, and ending the day with a long soak in the bath and pamper session. What more do you want?Continue Reading
Happy Sunday! It´s probably one of my favourite days of the week (most likely because it´s considered OK to stay in your pyjamas all day… Or is that just me?!). Sunday is the ultimate day of relaxing, re-charging for a new week ahead, going for long walks (not in my pyjamas), and pampering. Continue Reading
I love a touch of gold, especially when it comes to interiors. Gold can be quite opulent and overpowering, so I prefer smaller details of it; combined with more neutral colours. And with the use of just a spray can, it´s so easy change it up! Continue Reading
This week I´m dedicating my top buys to something which is completely all-consuming at the moment… INTERIOR. We´re done with all the hard and gritty stuff, and now it´s just filling up the house, with beautiful home accessories. There´s so much I want though, and although I´m pretty particular with my sense of style; I´m also finding that it´s constantly developing – meaning something I would never normally dream to appreciate – looks suddenly perfect in our new house. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen our renovation process in full swing. As we´ve now moved to a house, there are naturally a lot more rooms to decorate, plan and fill. To not become too overwhelmed by the project, I am working my way through the house bit by bit (I can´t wait to show you all when it´s 100% finished). Continue Reading
