LAST DAYS IN PARADISE

The last instalment of our Mexican dream holiday, goes to Playa Del Carmen on the Riviera Maya coast. This is pretty close to Tulum, which is where we started our adventure a week ago, but this time we opted for a more resort type holiday, for pure relaxation.

We stayed at the Viceroy Riviera Maya and checked into our gorgeous beach front villa. Although this was a resort, all the accommodation were bungalow villas, and it all felt very intimate and small. They’ve created it so it blends in with the nature – rather than complete opposite, with´resort` type hotels just plonked on the beach. The colours and material of the resorts were all natural (even our bathrobes were made from organic linen), and you felt you were in a jungle most of the time. We loved it.

Living on fresh fruits and green juice (too hot to eat much else)…

Afternoon excursion to a local village. One of the only rainy days, which was a great excuse to go exploring!

The next day we discovered this completely deserted and remote beach front resort while driving a long the coast – which had the most beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea (not to mention all the friendly little creatures running around). Our own little gem.

Lunch at our villa – ceviche and fish tacos. I could live on this diet!

The best part of our villa was our own little heated plunge pool – which was perfect for the cooler evenings.

Mornings in our dreamy, tropical bathroom. You know what I mean by feeling you´re in the jungle? Loved this.

Eggs and avocado always tastes much better on holiday.

Getting ready for our last day in paradise – beach, swim and an afternoon of fishing!
