My Kitchen Essentials

My Kitchen Essentials

I use very many different supplements to boost my morning juices, smoothies and porridge – these are some of my current essentials which are both firm kitchen cupboard staples, and on rotation – depending on season and need.

MY GO-TO SUPPLEMENTS

Wheatgrass powder: Great for digestion, increases metabolism (weight loss), cleanses & detoxifies > I mix 1tsp in my green juice/smoothie.

Maca powder: Rich in Vitamin B (calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium and amino acids), increases energy levels & supplies iron > I mix 1tsp in my morning smoothie or mix it in with porridge.

Acai powder: Such an amazing superfood! Rich in a variety of antioxidants, high in calcium & iron > I stir 1tsp in my Berry Acai smoothie (recipe coming soon).

Plant-based protein powder: Easily-digestible, nutrient- dense superfood & contains essential amino acids > I mix 1 scoop of this powder 4-5 a week in my breakfast smoothie.

Seed mix: High in protein stimulating growth and maintenance of muscle mass and the maintenance of normal bones, high in Vitamin E (an antioxidant) & maintains normal blood cholesterol levels > I have this with just about everything!

Hemp protein powder: Stimulates skin and hair growth, maintains bone health, low in saturated fat, regulates metabolism & helps the brain function > I stir in 1tsp in my porridge, Chia Seed pudding or smoothie.

Bee Pollen: Natural energiser, treats inflammatory conditions, high in antioxidants & aids in digestion > I mix it with my Chia Seed pudding, in smoothies or in porridge (it’s nice with the crunch!).

Baobab Powder: More Vitamin C than oranges, more iron than red meat and a rich content of alkalising minerals – calcium, potassium & magnesium >  I mix a 1tsp in my morning smoothie or mix it in with porridge.

Clean Greens Powders: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron and then the hugely powerful blood cleanser Chlorophyll > I mix 1tsp in my green juice/smoothie.

Spirulina Tablets:  Spirulina supplement is one of the richest and most complete food source present in the world, protection from cancer and multiple viruses, anti aging skin nourishing and revitalisation > I mix 1tsp in my green juice/smoothie.

Matcha Tea: Contains 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea (!), increases energy levels (good for weight loss), improves learning performance, promote concentration, supports the immune system > I drink it as a shot (it doesn’t taste the best) or mix it with my green juice/smoothie.

I know this is a lot and rather overwhelming – I am still learning as well! I also know I do quite a lot; I’ve been trialling and testing what works for my body and specific health issues. Even if you just adapt 1 or 2 things of these supplements in your diet, it’s plenty (alongside eating more veggies in general!). I also do a lot of these in rotation, to vary it up!

Happy Friday everyone!

This is amazing but I must admit slightly overwhelming! I would imagine it would be good to start slowly, so as not to shock your system with too many changes at once?

Exactly! Ease yourself in with just a few changes at the time, that’s what I’ve been doing. Not everything works for everyone either – so be careful with overdoing it all at once! x
