If you follow me on Instagram – you might have noticed my shoot together with John Lewis a few weeks ago. I was one of four fellow bloggers to style up and feature in their first ever online look book, to go alongside their John Lewis EDIT: New Proportions collection, launching this February. Needless to say I was very honoured!
The shoot took place in the beautiful Perseverance Studios in Shoreditch, with champagne, cupcakes, nail artists, hair and make-up to hand. The EDIT was a carefully edited selection from brands such as Coach, Reiss, Hobbs, Whistles, Collection by John Lewis, KIN, and more.
BACKSTAGE SNAPSHOTS
FINAL LOOKS
I had free reign to style it up (so much fun!) into a four looks – which will all form part of the digital and social campaign for John Lewis (coming soon). To say I was overwhelmed by the amazing clothes and accessories, would be an understatement – there was so many nice pieces to choose from! As always though, I stuck with typical looks I love, staying true to my style.
#1st LOOK
Jumper: Whistles, £135 / Skirt: Warehouse, £45 / Shoes: COLLECTION by John Lewis, £135
I loved this look – especially the contrast of a chunky knit together with a more feminine skirt. I added some neutral heels to add some height and elegance.
#2nd LOOK
Top: COLLECTION by John Lewis, £49 / Jeans: Mint Velvet, £59 / Shoes: COLLECTION by John Lewis, £89
The most clean look of them all – working on contrasts with the oversized jeans, together with the more feminine blouse. These heels also add some femininity to the look, with their open-toe and neutral colours.
#3rd LOOK
Top: Miss Selfridge, £27 / Skirt: Warehouse, £45 / Bag: DKNY, £158 / Shoes: Hobbs, £179
This was a bit more playful, where I stepped slightly out of my comfort zone, with a cropped top! As always, I tried to balance out the softer elements with more edgy and masculine accessories, such as these amazing loafers.
#4th LOOK
Top: KIN by John Lewis, £45 / Jeans: Mint Velvet, £59 / Shoes: Carvela, £95 / Bag: DKNY, £158
I love blue, but I am not that good at finding a shade that suits me! This dark navy top is super classy with it’s prints and soft shape; which looks great with this edgy clutch. Again, balancing out the oversized jeans with a girly top and heels.
Which look was your favourite?
All in all, it was such a fun evening and amazing experience. I nearly didn’t make it, as I had a horrible flu that day (thank you hair & make-up for sorting me out!) – but luckily I did, and I got to meet with my fellow bloggers and the lovely John Lewis team – not to mention all the clothes, shoes and accessories (I was pretty much in heaven).
The John Lewis EDIT concept it absolutely brilliant – there are so many different trends, directions, styles and choices out there; the EDIT is a really tight and strong selection of versatile and clean capsule pieces, which are so easy to add to any wardrobe!
