HIPPY CHILD AT HEART

HIPPY CHILD AT HEART

…I mean, kind of anyways. As much as my style is pretty classic and clean most of the time; come summer season and I am all about breaking out of my shell, leaving the mounds of black and grey behind, and experimenting with colour and prints. During the spring and summer months, I definitely tend to switch from my regular ´Scandi-style`, playing around with more colours, prints and textures. So I guess you could say that I am a hippy child at heart. I love anything embroidered and resembling from the 70s – so naturally, this perfect midi dress from Studio by Preen via Debenhams, pulled right on those heart strings.

The first time I spotted this dress, was on Helena Christensen, my childhood idol. And I didn´t just see it in pictures; I sat right opposite her at a Debenhams Spring/Summer presentation (she is the current face of the department store), and naturally, she sold the dress to me in seconds. I mean, if anyone is going to pull off boho chic with and edge, it´s Helena, let´s face it.

I would love to think it looks just as good on me as it did on her, but I doubt it! Nevertheless, I could not resist this gorgeous floral print combo, with pops of pink and a dark navy base. Such an elegant yet edgy style; I adore the midi length, the bell sleeves, frills and cinched in waist. It´s also super flattering, and I am pretty sure this dress will look good on any shape and size.

Teamed with a bit of heel height, with these nude block sandals, this is a printed, bohemian summer look I can get down with. No looking back to the layers of black and minimal lines (well not for now, anyways). The new season with all it´s lush prints and colours, have put a new lease of life back into me.

This looks so lovely! I just went on the website and would probably have scrolled right past if I hadn’t seen how you had styled it. Love! ❤️
