FOOL PROOF WARDROBE CLASSICS

FOOL PROOF WARDROBE CLASSICS

We’re slowly transitioning into Autumn, and replacing easy breezy summer dresses with those perfect black skinnies, good quality basics, and the ideal trans seasonal outerwear (the khaki jacket). After living in dresses for so long this summer, which I’m sure you picked up on with my July series of ‘Dressing The Bump‘, I never thought I would manage to wear skinny jeans again; especially not now that I am getting rounder by the day with my 33 week bump. But then I discovered these perfect black skinny jeans, and never looked back…

I have invested in a few different maternity jeans in the past few months, and I have to say; I have been pleasantly surprised! The best so far have been from ASOS, NEXT and Topshop – all of which have such a variety of styles and shapes, with both under-the-bump and over-the-bump options (apologies if this is not so relevant to some of my readers!). But for me, it’s been such a life saviour finding so many great jeans; as it’s really enabled me to continue to wear near enough the same style and clothes that I love (with just some minor adjustments).

The good thing about simple outfits such as this one, with the black skinny jeans, crew neck tee and khaki jacket – is the versatility in terms of being able to add some fun statement shoes to the look. I scooped up this gorgeous embroidered pair (which are an absolute bargain by the way) – and really add that much needed elegance to the overall look.

Keeping it simple and most importantly, easy – during the later stages of my pregnancy, has been so important to me. I mean, I have always been relatively casual and relaxed in my style anyways – and I’m so just glad that I have been able to continue this, even with my bump, bigger breasts and wider hips. Don’t get me wrong, I have been embracing all the bodily changes, and feel very luck, sartorially wise, that I have been pregnant during the summer – as it’s just been so easy to throw on loose t-shirts, blouses, harem pants, shorts, loose skirts and dresses (with not a heel in sight). And now going forward for the remaining 6-7 weeks I have left, I will be holding tight onto these kinds of outfits – which not only are super comfortable and easy to wear; but still resembles my kind of style.
