Flat Inspiration

Flat Inspiration

As many of you might have picked up on, I’ve recently bought a new flat (after selling my first one back in the summer). The sale has taken a long time to go through, but I finally pick up the keys in a few days! So excited. It’s another renovation project, which is just how I wanted it! Anyways, see below for my ideas and plans for the new place…

LOUNGE

Muted and natural colours on the walls and main interior, being the sofa, table, bookshelf’s, etc. I want to combine this with strong colours and prints on the smaller accessories such as cushions, wall prints, flowers and lamps. Creating a warm yet stylish space.

KITCHEN

A traditional grey/green panelled kitchen together with bevelled brick tiles. Mixed with modern industrial steel lamps and smooth grey granite stone surfaces. The kitchen and lounge is going to be open plan, so it’s important to keep the kitchen as minimal as possible, as well as merging the colour scheme and colours together.

1st BEDROOM

I want the bedroom to be the most calm, serene and clean looking room – with natural colours such as sand, cream and blue tone colours. Bed and sidetables in weathered wood and a soft carpet to make it warm and cozy.

2nd BEDROOM

The second bedroom is big enough to be an actual bedroom, but I’ve already put in a request to have it as (my) study/bedroom with a desk and sofa bed. I bought the most beautiful old vintage wooden and leather chair from an antique boutique over the Christmas holiday – this will look great together with an otherwise bright and modern bedroom.

BATHROOM

White bevelled brick tiles and a walk-in shower, with a statement flooring (like above). I might not opt for traditional cupboards, but rather mix more modern appliances together with the traditional tiles and floors. As I will most like be selling the flat within the next 2 years (I can’t ever stay somewhere for too long, ha), it’s important to keep it minimal and practical.

So there you have it! I will show you snapshots of the process, and as soon as I’m all settled in I will (finally) give you a proper insight into my improved wardrobe and fave pieces!
