THE SWIMWEAR SHAPES I AM PACKING FOR IBIZA

May 26, 2017
beach (22 of 26)

I have never been a natural sun or swim frolicker, who runs around on the beach and confidently jumps in sea. I guess I´m like many other ladies – not necessarily the happiest when I am wearing swimwear, and for far too many years I have let my various body hang ups, put a damper on amazing running around on the beach/jumping in the sea-moments. Funnily enough, now that my body is naturally bigger than ever, growing that special little bump – I am finding myself more confident and carefree then I have ever been – I mean, what else can you do, then love and embrace your new shape? And it´s actually made it fun to put together my swimwear looks for my upcoming holiday to Ibiza next week – finding some really great (and flattering, most importantly!) swimwear shapes to fit.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES #36

May 23, 2017
monthlyfavourites (11 of 14)

Now that many of you are most likely in the loop in regards to my very exciting pregnancy news a few weeks ago – you might start to notice some small changes in my monthly favourites; from what beauty products I need (dehydrated and pigmented skin, anyone!?), and some changes in the fashion and lifestyle faves… This month is quite predominant with shoes, as it´s been the easiest thing I can still buy and which I know will (hopefully) continue to fit for the rest of the season, some must-have beauty essentials to tackle my ´new` skin, the perfect red dress for my upcoming holiday to Ibiza, and some more sparkly delights…

BLACK FLORALS

May 17, 2017
IMG_8029

From someone that´s not been into overly feminine dresses (or dresses in general) – and more often than not, always opting for separates instead – I am all over it at the moment! As I am sure you have noticed from April and May´s blog posts! And especially now that I am pregnant (and growing by the day), dresses have been so easy to throw on, teamed with a leather jacket, blazer or oversized khaki jacket.

THE MAN REPELLERS

May 8, 2017
givenchy (1 of 13)

There comes a point in any relationship, that one just has to stop caring what your other half thinks of your style. Don´t get me wrong, I do care, and I do get affected by my husband´s less than enthusiastic response when I choose to wear anything too ´fashion`. But as I was saying, there just comes that point when I find a piece that I love so much, that I couldn’t give a flying monkeys whether he likes them or not (no offence, hubby). The fashion piece in question? The Givenchy Chain Mules – which let´s face it, are totally man repelling – but then again, what does it matter?

POPS OF RED

May 1, 2017
IMG_6052

…or rather, one pop of red, courtesy of J.W.Anderson´s ´Pierce` bag which has gathered a bit of a cult status this past year. And I mean, who could resist such a beautiful bag, in this bright shade of red? I mean red is just everywhere at the moment; I dare to ask, is red becoming the new black? Because it kinds of goes with anything (right?).

HIPPY CHILD AT HEART

April 28, 2017
IMG_5830

…I mean, kind of anyways. As much as my style is pretty classic and clean most of the time; come summer season and I am all about breaking out of my shell, leaving the mounds of black and grey behind, and experimenting with colour and prints. During the spring and summer months, I definitely tend to switch from my regular ´Scandi-style`, playing around with more colours, prints and textures. So I guess you could say that I am a hippy child at heart. I love anything embroidered and resembling from the 70s – so naturally, this perfect midi dress from Studio by Preen via Debenhams, pulled right on those heart strings.

SUMMER EVENT DRESSING WITH SELFRIDGES

April 24, 2017
Anneli wearing Reiss Dress standing by wall

´Tis the season, for all those dreamy summer events, with weddings, races and al fresco soirees… And as much as I love it, the pain is always the same, every single year… What to wear? I try not to go overboard and buy a new outfit for every event; but I also don´t want to always resort to the same dresses on rotation every season. Hence when springtime arrives, I tend to add 2-3 new outfits into the mix, injecting some fresh new styles into my more formal wardrobe collection… I have several weddings coming up, so I headed to my go-to destination for dresses and smart outfits, Selfridges, and managed to score the perfect stylish, yet soft and feminine summer outfit (the ideal combination).  Continue Reading

A SUMMER WARDROBE TWO-PIECE

April 19, 2017
IMG_5095

Pink is all the rage this summer – from bright pastels, shades of dark fuchsia to dusty pink (my personal favourite). Granted, pink can be a tricky colour, and not everyone´s cup of tea; with the risk of looking too girly or feminine. But when I spotted this perfect two piece linen suit from Tu Clothing – the ideal investment for the summer, be it for any upcoming events or just as a smart day-to-day alternative – it was love at first sight… With the more relaxed androgynous fit – combined with a muted soft pink, it pretty much ticks all the right boxes for me (not to mention it being an absolute steal).  Continue Reading

April´s in full swing, and I am loving the Spring vibes in the city! Although we´re still having some colder days in-between, so I haven´t packed all my warm jumpers and coats away (just yet). Either ways, it´s still so nice to be wearing my favourite ripped boyfriend jeans with my ankles out… It´s the little things which make all the difference, right?  Continue Reading

FRAGRANCE COMBINING WITH JO MALONE LONDON

March 29, 2017
jomalone (8 of 11)

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with one of my favourite British fragrance brands, Jo Malone London. Being a Londoner for nearly 8 years now, I find myself fiercely loyal to local, heritage brands – and Jo Malone is no exception. It epitomises all things British – class, tradition, consistency (a very British trait), yet with constant innovation… One of their latest campaign launches, is the power of Fragrance Combining. I mean, it totally makes sense; why wouldn’t you want to mix two of your favourite scents together? The best of both worlds.  Continue Reading

24 HOURS IN PARIS

March 27, 2017
paris (6 of 16)

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being whisked away to Paris by French skincare brand, Darphin. Albeit a quick visit, the agenda was still nothing short than heavenly – including lots of eating, drinking, spa time and some afternoon free-time to explore the city (which just happened to have the dreamiest Spring feeling on the day we went) – not to mention a late night motorbike tour of the city! Paris is still one of my all-time favourite cities in the world; to me, it has it all. Class, sophistication, edge, vibrancy, beauty and tradition. What´s not to love?

monthlyfavourites (1 of 10)

Ok, I know I keep saying it every time, but seriously – where is this year going?! How is it already end of March? 2017 is just flying away… But I for one am more than ready for Spring. It´s my favourite season by far. Gone are the days of wanting it too hot and balmy (as in, I wouldn’t complain with a few of those days right about now) – but Spring has that refreshing air of newness. We start ditching the layers, bare a bit more skin, and have that constant air of curiosity for the new season…

A TOUCH OF BOHO FOR SPRING

March 13, 2017
Debenhams-AnneliBush (11 of 16)

I don´t know what it is. Come Spring and Summer time, I always, without fail, have a clear and straight course towards the more bohemian collections (anything with lace or embroidery, I am sold). If you´ve been reading my blog for a while, it´s pretty apparent that my style is pretty minimal and clean overall, with a definite Scandinavian influence. Funnily enough, my clothing style, is a direct reflection of my interior style. If you read this post last week, I was talking about how my decoration at home, is mainly minimal, clean and contemporary, yet with injections of a more relaxed and bohemian touch. So there you have it; I am a true Scandi-Queen at heart (but my knees always go weak when I see something with a touch of boho)…

THE SARTORIAL BALANCE GAME

March 10, 2017
IMG_8265

You now I´m all about contrasts when it comes to my personal style. Never too girly or feminine, never too masculine or edgy – a balance of the both, takes me straight to my sartorial comfort zone. And in the end of the day, it´s all about being comfortable and feeling good in what you’re wearing right. Because if you don´t, what´s really the point? We all know by now, that one always tends to look better in an outfit, if one really owns it – right?

THE REVIVAL OF SPORTY SPICE (ANNO 2017)

March 4, 2017
IMG_8243

Sporty Spice was always my fave (although I had a soft spot for Posh Spice too), and during my early teens when the Spice Girls were at it´s peak; I wore tracksuits, platforms and high sling pony tails like there was no tomorrow. I mean, all of these components into one outfit was never a good look (let´s be honest) – but that´s not to say I don´t still have a bit of a soft spot for some of the more active styles which has come with the ´Sports Luxe` trend over the past few years…

TOP 10 TIPS TO DETOX YOUR WARDROBE (TRIED & TESTED)

February 27, 2017
wardrobe (15 of 15)

Believe it or not, I regularly clear out my wardrobe… I mean, although I´m fortunate to now have the most space I have ever had previously, with my walk-in-wardrobe – it´s not actually the space that´s been the real issue. It´s the visibility to see more clearly what I have in my wardrobe (which pre-detox, was not always an easy task – trust me), so I not only get to wear more of the pieces I truly love and adore – but to always make it easier to dress myself every day, instead of dragging out piece after piece on the floor out of frustration (yes, I am one of those)…
