STREAMLINING MY WARDROBE

June 22, 2018
STYLE-1 (5 of 12)

This type of outfit pretty much sums up my style at the moment (when I’m not in my Lululemon/Sweaty Betty fitness gear – which is pretty much 80% of the time, let’s be honest). It’s nice to make an effort when I finally do decide to dress up, but since becoming a mama, I have definitely become way more casual with my style, and I’m finding myself streamlining my wardrobe a lot – in terms of identifying what I’m wearing the most; which are more than often the pieces which are comfortable, great quality and super versatile…  Continue Reading

CASUAL FOR DAYS

May 14, 2018
anneli2

Can you tell that I’m all about casual outfits at the moment? My style was always pretty relaxed anyways, and not surprisingly, it’s even more so now that I’m a full time mummy. Easy, soft, comfortable, and stylish (when possible) is the aim, and with that, it’s all about finding those core wardrobe staples to make that happen…

TWO KEY LOOKS FOR SPRING

April 23, 2018
pink6

red9For me, Spring has officially arrived when the blossoms are out. And especially now with the (much awaited) Spring heatwave – I am having all the new season feels, and I cannot wait to re-invent my wardrobe with lots of fresh new styles and colours (yes, you heard me – colour!). This time last year, I was just over 3 months pregnant, and although I hadn’t started showing by then, I wasn’t really in the mood to start investing in lots of new bits for my wardrobe, as I knew my body was changing week by week. So this year, now that I have finally reclaimed my body back, I am super excited to pick up some fun new styles for the warmer months ahead. And as always, I tend to start with the footwear and accessories…

HOW I’M KEEPING FIT ON-THE-GO

April 6, 2018
Facetune_04-04-2018-11-34-01

Firstly, happy International Walk to Work Day! Quite aptly, I’m tying in the theme of walking (and how to keep on top of your fitness levels on a day-to-day basis) in today’s blog post. I previously shared my Post-Baby Wellness Tips, where I mentioned my main reason for shedding the weight, being the simple (and free) fitness of walking. Since having Rio, I have never walked as much in my life, and it never stops. Be it for his daily sleeps, or just running errands, I’m constantly on the run with the pushchair. And albeit lots of times, I’m just in my skinny leggings and trainers; there are many occasions where I want to look stylish whilst at it. Click through for my tips to get walking enough every day (and which footwear I swear by for on-the-go in the city).

MY DUBAI HOLIDAY OUTFITS

March 28, 2018
IMG_0146

I’m having massive holiday blues at the moment, although I have totally no right to complain, as I had the most incredible time away… Everything was perfect, and all those fears of travelling with a 5 month old baby, quickly disappeared. Granted, we had help on hand with some family – but it really helped that we organised and planned everything in advance (I will be sharing my top baby travel tips very soon with you guys!) and stayed somewhere which was really family friendly. What I did found challenging this time around, however, was my own wardrobe… All the focus was naturally on Rio, so my holiday wardrobe was pulled together pretty last minute. Fortunately, I had done some last minute online orders – combined with some long standing wardrobe favourites of mine…

MY NURSING FRIENDLY STYLE EDIT

March 12, 2018
IMG_6499

Hey fellow mamas (or mamas to be!). Apologies that this has taken a while to pull together (you know, life happens + a 5 month old baba!) – but here it is: a round up of all my favourite nursing friendly pieces (all affordable from the high street, of course), along with some style recommendations and tips. I’m not proclaiming to be a master expert by any means – as most of the time, I just tend to get on with it, and basically wear what I like. When that said, when I know I’m out and about for a full day, or I’m going to a restaurant/cafe to meet friends in public – I make sure I adjust accordingly to make the whole process easier – and have therefore rounded up the typical style of clothing, and pieces that I can’t live without when it comes to nursing out and about.

MINI STYLE FOR SPRING

March 9, 2018
Facetune_07-03-2018-21-05-37

There’s no real surprise that I have become pretty obsessed with Rio’s wardrobe (nearly as much as mine!). I’m loving discovering all the various kids brands (which is obviously a totally new territory for me), creating outfits and building a real look for our little man. Sam is pretty involved in his outfit choices too (already an evidence in Rio’s ever growing trainer collection!). We both have a pretty minimal and neutral style, and it’s not surprising that we’ve naturally conveyed that in terms of what brands and quality of clothing we have been investing in for Rio…

THE HIGH STREET JEANS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW

February 23, 2018
IMG_5392

I’m a jeans girl through and through, and especially since becoming a mama, I seem to be living in jeans near enough every day. And now that I’ve lost some of the baby weight, I’ve gone on a bit of a mad shopping spree with my jeans (which you might have noticed, if you follow me on Instagram and watch my recent InstaStories). As my body shape has naturally changed since being pregnant, I’ve only really been investing in more high waisted styles, which I find the most flattering. Here are the 5 jeans I am wearing on repeat at the moment, which are also all available on the high street right now.

MY MOST PRECIOUS METALS

January 31, 2018
jewellery (8 of 12)

As you might have already noticed, I’m very into my jewellery. Classic, timeless and mostly in gold. Dainty, but also statement styles. A mix of investment pieces that will last a life-time, combined with more affordable, contemporary styles… Although it might seem like a lot of jewellery on display here; in reality I am extremely picky and selective. I have acquired a lot of jewellery throughout my time, but these are the ones that have made the final cut this time; my most precious metals, and the pieces I keep wearing over, and over again…

KIND OF BACK

January 18, 2018
IMG_1564

So it’s over 3 months since I became a mummy, and I’m finally getting back into the swing of things. I am by no means working full time (at all), but every now and again (when he sleeps, basically) – and I don’t have mounds of washing to do (which is a rarity!), and catching up on some general life/house/Rio admin – I try to make some time to stay creative. Be it write a bit, shoot some new bits, reply to some e-mails. Nothing major, but just keeping my foot slightly still in the game. But also, my foot firmly off the pedal, as I am still making the most out of this precious newborn bubble…

MY NEW TAKE ON DESK-TO-DANCE FLOOR PARTY ESSENTIALS

December 22, 2017
IMG_8962

I say ‘my new take on…’, as since having my baby boy, my desk/work situation has slightly changed and there’s not been much dance floor action for myself as of late (understatement of the year!). However this week and next, with both families around to help out, Sam and I have planned a few dinners and catch up with friends, and I can’t wait to do my hair, my make-up, and most importantly, get dressed up!  Continue Reading

AUTUMN SUNSHINE

October 4, 2017
IMG_3148

In my opinion, I don’t think there’s much that beats that first proper, crisp and sunny Autumn day… Don’t get me wrong, Summer is heaven – but after a long hot season, that special change of air, is definitely a welcoming delight. And I think perhaps that the transition to Autumn from Summer, is my all-time favourite seasonal switch… The colour change of the leaves, the beginning of the slightly cooler weather, the layers… Oh, and the fact that you can still get away with brights and transitional wardrobe pieces (point example in today’s blog post!).  Continue Reading

DATE NIGHT IN THE CITY

September 25, 2017
IMG_2344

With my due date fast approaching, so many friends and family around us have been telling us to make the most out of the last few weeks as just us two. Although obviously, we cannot wait to meet our little man – it’s going to be a huge change in our lives, going from being just the two of us for over 9 years together (!), to starting a life as a trio. And whilst I have naturally been taking it a lot more easy in terms of slowing down with work and daily life in preparation for this huge life-change – a few weeks ago we decided to have a little last minute staycation in the city. Saturday night out, getting dressed up and going for a romantic dinner, just the two of us.

Ok, so I am only 3 1/2 weeks from my due date, which means I have finally started looking at ‘normal’ clothes again, and definitely started to rack up a rather long Autumn wish list. First thing’s first though – I always aim to get in early when it comes to new season coats, as so many times, all the good ones sell out straight away! So I have done some online shopping/browsing for you guys – and narrowed down the top 10 styles on the high street right now – so whatever style you’re after, I’ve kinda got it covered…

TRANSITIONING

September 8, 2017
IMG_1594

September is definitely a month of transitioning. School’s back, we mentally (and physically) start to switch our summer wardrobe into autumn, and then there’s that new crisp, coolness in the morning air… I for one cannot wait. I am so excited to start digging out all my snuggly knitwear, denim and coats. Although in terms of footwear, I tend to love and live in flats such as sandals, ballerinas, sliders… So jumping into closed boots will definitely be a minor struggle – but everything else that comes with the new season, bring it on.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES #39

August 29, 2017

Anyone else still reluctantly transitioning into Autumn? I mean, I still have my eye firmly on the new arrivals (and have already treated myself to some new season pieces as seen below) – but I am still technically in summer mode, in terms of my day-to-day wardrobe, alongside clinging onto the last weeks of warm, sunny weather. So for now, and for this month’s favourites – I give you a good mix of a bit of both; such as must-have summer statement sandals, alongside my new furry slippers…

FOOL PROOF WARDROBE CLASSICS

August 21, 2017
IMG_0592

We’re slowly transitioning into Autumn, and replacing easy breezy summer dresses with those perfect black skinnies, good quality basics, and the ideal trans seasonal outerwear (the khaki jacket). After living in dresses for so long this summer, which I’m sure you picked up on with my July series of ‘Dressing The Bump‘, I never thought I would manage to wear skinny jeans again; especially not now that I am getting rounder by the day with my 33 week bump. But then I discovered these perfect black skinny jeans, and never looked back…
