Another week, another outfit post as part of this month’s ‘Dressing the Bump’ series. This week, it’s all about that lightweight, summer boho dressing… We’re in the height of the season, and I for one have invested heavily in a variety of soft and feminine dresses – which also just happen to be the perfect piece of clothing when your bump is growing rapidly by the day…
I brought this gorgeous red embroidered style back with me on my recent holiday to our summer house in Norway. Where my outfits mainly consisted of loose and breezy kaftans, dresses and cover-ups – teamed with simple sandals, beach hair and woven bags. Basically, my ideal scenario…
I find myself pretty lucky to be pregnant during the summer. Obviously I feel incredibly fortunate whatever month or season I would be pregnant; however initially I do remember preparing myself for a few unbearable months in terms of heat, size and dressing… However I don’t know what I was thinking – so far, I have loved being pregnant during the warmer months – as it’s enabled me to wear really loose, yet flattering pieces of clothing. No jeans in sight – just soft and easy pieces. I have also never invested in so many different variety of dresses before; it seems to be all that I am wearing at the moment – which is a good thing, as the styles I have been wearing the most – such as maxi’s and bardot dresses – have all worked great with the bump.
Of course, I’ve had bad days with the heat (being pregnant is basically like having a duvet over you at all times). But as long as I stay hydrated, keep to the shade, and wear clothes that I feel good in – such as this loose-fitted maxi dress, there is not much to complain about
