DAY-TO-NIGHT DRESSING

DAY-TO-NIGHT DRESSING

December marks a busy month, filled to the brim with after work drinks, Christmas parties, dinners and get-together´s. When time is limited and you´re going from office to party; it´s more crucial than ever to invest in key pieces which are versatile for all-day dressing. I teamed up with Karen Millen to share my Top 3 essentials for this season, and how I will be styling them for day-time chic, to night-time lux.

THE OFFICE DRESS

Everyone needs an office style dress in their wardrobe; it´s such a versatile piece – especially during the party season, when it´s probably the easiest thing to take from desk-to-party.

For a day-time outfit, layer the dress with contrasting textures such as a knit, which adds a more relaxed feel to overall outfit, and pair it with suede and soft leather accessories, to complete the polished look.

Come night-time, throw on your heels and a killer coat, and you´re good to go! To compensate for the shorter length of the dress, I would always opt for a longer jacket, adding more class and sophistication to the outfit.

THE KNITTED JUMPER

I love a good knit, owning far too many than I would like to admit. This jersey and cable knit jumper is fitted, yet super cozy (always the best combination), making it incredibly easy to wear all day long.

For a classy day-time city look – pair the jumper with your favourite jeans, add some edge with a tailored coat, brogues and a statement accessory, such as this faux fur bag. Casual chic!

When night-time falls, swap out the jeans with a feminine skirt and heels. The knit adds a relaxed edge to the otherwise elegant look, making the overall style understated, yet luxurious.

THE LACE BLOUSE

I have a serious weakness when it comes to lace; and this black, silky style is another great and classic investment piece to add to your wardrobe, ensuring a classy look from morning to night.

Team it with this season´s hottest denim style, the flares, add a great winter coat and some booties (essential with any wide legged pants), and you´ve pulled together a sophisticated day-time look.

Blouse / Jeans / Boots

Come night-time, style the blouse with this dream of a floral statement skirt, for an elegant, yet bohemian evening look – transforming the simple blouse into a unique and lux ensemble.

I love how you turned the knit into a night outfit too! Such a granny thing to say but I hate being cold when it comes to dressing for a night out in winter haha x

My friends and I love your blog, but this has made us so sad. Don’t you need to let readers know if this is an sponsored post for Karen Millen?

      Hi Jill,

Thank you for your message! Firstly, so happy that you and your friends like my blog!

I do apologise that I didnĀ“t entirely clarify that this was a collaborative post within the text – I did outline that I teamed up with Karen Millen, of which I meant that this was a partnered project, but I have taken your feedback on board and have added the sponsored part at the bottom of the post. Thank you for your honest critic. Lastly, I would just like to add that the entire styling, words and artistic direction were my own on this post (that goes across ALL my blog posts, sponsored or not) – this is always so important to me, so I can stay true to my own style and core values – I hope that comes across too :)

        Dear Jill,
When the bloggers write they team up with a brand, it always implies a collaboration. Beautiful outfits Anneli. I love the fact that you always take to time to reply to your readers.
        Cheers,
        Tatjana
