DATE NIGHT IN THE CITY

DATE NIGHT IN THE CITY

With my due date fast approaching, so many friends and family around us have been telling us to make the most out of the last few weeks as just us two. Although obviously, we cannot wait to meet our little man – it’s going to be a huge change in our lives, going from being just the two of us for over 9 years together (!), to starting a life as a trio. And whilst I have naturally been taking it a lot more easy in terms of slowing down with work and daily life in preparation for this huge life-change – a few weeks ago we decided to have a little last minute staycation in the city. Saturday night out, getting dressed up and going for a romantic dinner, just the two of us.

I say dressed up, which is definitely easier said than done when one is 9 months pregnant! And dressing up in general is not something I have been doing a lot of during this pregnancy. Fortunately it’s been summer and holidays; in other words – no heels in sight, minimal make up, and lots of easy breezy dresses with flats. So naturally, it felt extra special last Saturday – dressing up for a crisp Autumn evening in the city – with my hair and make-up done, some black heels (block style, obviously), an oversized silk shirt, and some ultra chic tailored pants. And to glam it all off (as it was a date night and all), I was fortunate enough to bring with me a very special jewellery collection to wear for the occasion…

Georg Jensen is a jewellery brand especially close to my heart, with their Scandinavian roots; designing the most beautiful, timeless and classic jewellery – yet always with a contemporary edge (in other words, right up my street). They’ve done many incredible collaborations in their time, such as with Vivianna Torun – who also happens to be one of Scandinavias most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jewellers. She has been working with Georg Jensen for decades, and this fall they celebrate their 50th year anniversary of collaborating. For this they have exclusively brought out designs that she created for the brand over 50 years ago – showcasing yet again, the brand’s natural ability to create designs standing the test of time and style… And I’ve been fortunate enough to choose my personal favourites from the collection (and I hope you agree how stunning and unique they all are)…

I chose two classic, yet pretty iconic bangles, which I layered together with my watch (you all know I love a good wrist stack), alongside the stunning gemstone pieces – with the earrings, ring and necklace; creating an overall eye-catching, yet minimal and Nordic-style statement.

Now you can imagine it felt pretty special wearing these pieces for our date night. I am all about jewellery, but I love to keep it relatively minimal and classic, as you know. That’s why I tend to stick to the designers that I historically love and wear a lot – Georg Jensen being one of them. Having grown up with the brand (but never had the pleasure of owning much more than a ring which I was given at my confirmation when I was 16 years old), it felt like a real treat stepping out with this collection. I wasn’t sure if I was going to wear it all at once, but as soon as I put on my relatively classic and tonal outfit – the elements of the gold and warm gemstones really helped elevate the ensemble – adding a bit more class and sophistication to the overall look…

Pampered, make-up and hair done, outfit sorted, and the final cherry on the top, with the jewels, I was ready for our night out. And what an evening it was to remember.
