Having just come back from 10 days in L.A and New York, where I struggled to acclimatise to the scorching heat in L.A – to baltic conditions in New York – I returned back to a relatively crisp Autumn here in London. Although we´re moving quickly into Winter as we speak – we´re still in that ´transitional` phase – where on certain days, you can get away with just a woollen gilet and pumps…
What I love about a wool gilet, is the ease of just throwing it on over a simple blouse, jumper or top (or even with a leather jacket!). It´s the perfect piece to keep you warm, yet not looking too bulky and thick. This black one from Jaeger has been the best buy, and I particularly love wearing it with my new favourite blouse from Isabel Marant Étoile.
I love the contrast of ripped denim, with the more feminine top, leopard statement pumps from Zara (the best buy, EVER) – combined with the classic Gucci bag.
Gone are the days of excessive shopping (hence why I re-branded from What I Bought Today.com, to AnneliBush.com earlier on in the year!) – and I´m all about investing in core, classic and solid wardrobe buys – more often than not, in a neutral colour palette. Then throughout the season, I pick up more affordable and current pieces to mix and match with my core staples. I seldom regret any buys, but I do have slight OCD, so once a month or so, I tend to have a wardrobe clear out (see my latest pieces in my blog shop here).
It doesn’t have to be expensive and a designer brand, to be a great buy! In fact, if you can find something of good quality for a great price – that´s an even better buy! These Zara heels I picked up a month ago, have been favourites of mine ever since. And investing in leopard print, is always a safe and classic bet.
What are your Autumn must-haves?
