ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS…

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS…

Anyone else feeling ridiculously festive this year? I know I am! I swear, the older I get, the more I get like a child when it comes to Christmas. And not just with the presents – but everything that surrounds it; with the Christmas markets, the gathering of friends and family, festive theatre and ballet performances, the food, socializing, over-the-top decorations… I love it all. But of course, Christmas is also a time for giving and receiving. I know my personal highlight is watching my 3 year old niece opening all her presents – the look of pure joy and innocent excitement, is priceless… And although Christmas is so much more than presents; it´s a great opportunity to give your closest ones some extra love and attention.

So, when Sam and I teamed up with luxury online retailers NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER – to choose our Christmas wish list (note: WISH list) – we were like kids in a candy store, quite literally. Not only are they both one of our go-to favourite shopping destinations – with the best luxury selection out there – it´s also become somewhat of a tradition every Christmas picking one (or two) bits from their ridiculously perfect curated gift section. I mean, what more do you want.

Sam and I have very similar taste when it comes to clothes; we both like classic and minimal styles, yet always pieces with that added edge. Although I am definitely the more daring of the two of us, and usually opt for more statement pieces (especially when it comes to my accessories) – Sam tends to play it more safe and is a lot more picky than I am; always taking real time in deciding on everything he buys, making sure it works with his existing wardrobe (something I definitely could be better at).

You would know by now that I am all about the details. The overall look can be relatively clean and simple, but I love picking pieces with that little point of difference. Such as this stunning grey coat from See by Chloé. I simply adore the relatively ´boyish` style with the herringbone wool, combined with the feminine details of the crepe de chine trims, mixed with the utilitarian inspired metal buttons and the oversized pockets. It goes without saying, the quality is outstanding, and in my opinion – the ideal wardrobe investment; it´s a classic piece, which will last you for years and years.

…not to mention this sparkly beauty of a bag from Saint Laurent (I mean – what´s not to love?). Not only is it probably my favourite brand when it comes to accessories; the quality and attention to detail is always spot on. You can easily get away with this statement bag, styled with an otherwise classic look in similar colours. Equally (and especially leading up to the festive/party season) – it would look oh-so-fabulous styled with some bright colours too.

I have personally never liked anything too over-the-top, or oversized, when it comes to men´s sunglasses. So I was pretty pleased when Sam picked up this round shaped style from Illesteva – they look so good on him.

Sam keeps his accessories and styling relatively neutral; teaming his classic Rolex watch with the perfect camel coat from British brand FOLK – one of his personal go-to designers. Ladies, if you’re stuck for gift ideas for the guys; this coat is a sure bet. You just can´t go wrong with this, quality and soft colour.

He teamed his coat with these clean-cut leather sneakers from cult brand, Common Projects. And I have to admit, of all the things he tried on and got to choose from; these shoes were the ones he was the most excited about! Granted, Sam is obsessed with his trainers, hosting a pretty impressive and large collection – but these were the final missing piece. He´s been after them for ages, so I already knew what I was getting him for Christmas (albeit, they came a bit early this year!). He styled them with these super soft skinny jeans from FRAME Denim (we both love this denim brand).

I opted for a pair of shoes, not so conventional. But they’ve been on my wish list for ages: the Stella McCartney platform brogues. They might be a bit bonkers and over-the-top, but I still 100% stand by my choice – and personally think they look fab when styled with an otherwise relatively simple look. Even Sam loved them (and that says a lot, coming from him) – although he didn’t love how tall they made me look, creeping close up to his height! They’re surprisingly comfortable, and I think they look super chic with jeans; be it a pair of skinnies, or my current favourite pair, with these cropped flares from FRAME Denim.

We both chose a classic t-shirt each; Sam in this grey style from John Elliot and I went for this super soft one from Madewell. When in doubt, always opt for tees – you can never have enough good quality ones!

I love this coat! It looks great on you!
May i ask which size you bought it? And how it fits?
I am thinking of buying it after seeing it on you! I am usually between sizes FR 34 and 36, but can only find it available in size 36.
