A LONG WEEKEND IN TUSCANY

A LONG WEEKEND IN TUSCANY

I’ve just come back from what was the most magical whirlwind trip to Tuscany, a place I have wanted to visit for years. We went for a friend’s wedding, which panned across 3 days, with different events happening each of those day. We went without Rio, and it was so lovely to have that weekend away just us two, along with catching up with so many of our friends, many of which we haven’t seen since we moved away from London nearly 6 months ago.

We flew into Rome, and from there it was a 2 hour drive to Tuscany. The drive was just along the coast, and en route we stopped in a little town called Orbetello and had the best spaghetti vongole – one of my all-time favourite Italian dishes.

We stayed in a gorgeous boutique farmhouse, the prettiest bed and breakfast I ever did see – and the scenery and setting was something else (we lived beside a whole tomato field – I mean!).

We arrived Friday afternoon, and just a few hours later, we were off to the pre-wedding dinner, which was situated in a little village on the top of the mountains. We all gathered at a tiny Italian pizzeria, which had the most amazing views across the valley below, and a sunset like no other. The drinks and conversation were flowing, and it will definitely be an evening to remember for a very long time!

I wore this summer dress from H&M, with old Bimba & Lola heels.

The next day was the wedding, with the ceremony starting in the afternoon (thankfully, due to it being a very hot day). I wore a dress by Needle & Thread from last season, which I had altered beforehand, creating a lovely scoop next (versus the original high neck). I teamed it with some diamanté earrings from Zara, clutch bag and heels from L.K.Bennett and Gucci sunglasses. I had my hair up, which I don’t often do, but it worked perfectly, with the lower neckline and big, statement earrings.

The beautiful bride and groom.

The setting of the wedding reception was so picturesque, with the Aperol spritz flowing all night long. And how dapper doesn’t Sam look?

The third day, and we’re all well and truly knackered from the days before, so fortunately there was a chilled BBQ pool day planned, and we spent the day drinking, swimming, laughing and dancing. In other words, I never wanted this holiday to end…

I wore this super cute linen set from The Sleeper really making the most out of the last days of summer and that feeling of heat on your skin… I teamed it with an old bikini from H&M, Jimmy Choo Sunglasses and Gucci mules.

A weekend I will remember for a long time. Filled with so much love and laughter (and A LOT of pasta!).
