6 FACE MASKS TO SUIT ALL YOUR SKIN CONCERNS

6 FACE MASKS TO SUIT ALL YOUR SKIN CONCERNS

I´m all about pampering. Nothing beats coming home after a busy day and setting aside a good hour to myself in the bathroom. I love having a long bath with candles and an episode of Scandal (oh the joy) – always followed by a weekly ritual I never stray away from: a face mask

Booking yourself in for a weekly facial at a salon is time-consuming, not to mention, costly! Invest in a couple of amazing facial masks, and you´re set! But which ones to go for? After testing and trialling a lot of masks throughout the years – these are the ones I keep coming back to, all individually working wonders on my skin (depending on season and specific concerns).

1. CAUDALIE INSTANT DETOX MASK

It´s in the name – this is an Instant Detox for your skin! This pink clay mask from Caudalie works deeply to remove any impurities, perfecting the skin with Papaya extract, minimising the pore size and draining any toxins with Grape Marc and Coffee – leaving the skin super soft and re-freshed after each use. I also love how clear and bright it leaves my complexion – making this the ultimate re-set and re-fresh mask when your skin is feeling clogged up and tired.

Apply a thin layer to cleansed skin for 5 minutes then rinse off with warm water. Use twice a week.

2. SARAH CHAPMAN OVERNIGHT FACIAL

This serum based facial is one of Sarah Chapman´s hero products – for good reason. The soothing essential oil blend of jasmine, frangipani, rose and tuberose aids a deep sleep too, to prep you for a glowing day, leaving your skin plump, dewy, brightened and rejuvenated (who doesn’t want that!?). The facial contains oils rich in anti-inflammatory omegas and essential fatty acids to help calm stressed skin.

Apply it your face and neck every evening, or whenever your skin needs an extra boost!

3. SISLEY BLACK ROSE CREAM MASK

This iconic bestseller from Sisley is a long standing favourite of mine. Rich in active anti-aging ingredients (black rose, padina pavonica, and alkekengi calyx extracts), it immediately gets to work on signs of tired skin – leaving the skin looking fresh, energised and so soft. This is my go-to mask when I am travelling, as it´s so hydrating and effective.

Use 2 to 3 times a week to the face and neck. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes, then wipe away excess using a cotton wool pad.

4. NEAL´S YARD WILD ROSE BEAUTY BALM

The best part about this product from Neal´s Yard is that it´s so versatile! You can use it as a cleanser, cream, exfoliant, a deeply nourishing balm (for lips, heels, after-sun, cuticles, nails), or a face mask – all of which helps to quench areas of dry or dehydrated skin. I love using it a couple of times a month – especially when my skin is feeling very dehydrated and dry. With the high levels of wild rosehip oil – a potent antioxidant proven to help repair, firm and smooth the skin – combined with geranium, starflower, hemp and rosemary seed oil – this balm helps to decongest, enrich and restore the skin.

To use it as an intensive face mask, apply a generous layer to your skin before bedtime and leave overnight. Use as and when needed.

5. SKINCEUTICALS CLARIFYING CLAY MASQUE

This non-drying masque from Skinceuticals combines kaolin and bentonite, the highest quality earth clays; botanicals and minerals to help calm the skin; and a hydroxy acid blend to gently exfoliate. This mask is ideal to help decongest stubborn pores, lift impurities, help remove any excess oil, and soothe the overall skin. It´s quite similar to the Caudalie mask in terms of it leaving the skin feeling clean, pure and bright.

Apply a thin layer to the face and neck – set for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water and pat dry. Use once weekly to help remove build-up of exfoliated skin, twice weekly for congested skin.

 6. PERRICONE MD CHLORO PLASMA

This anti-aging clay mask from Perricone MD is one of the most purifying of the lot – aimed at detoxifying, smoothing and minimising the pores – whilst illuminating and brightening the complexion. With active ingredients such as chlorophyll, blue green algae and watercress – combined with Perricone´s signature Plasma technology – this is a bestseller for a reason. I like to use this at with the changing of the seasons, when my skin is a bit all over the place! It helps clear and smooth the skin texture.

Massage a liberal amount onto skin until all microcapsules are released and appear evenly deep green. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, rinse off with warm water. Use 2-3 times a week.

I’ve developed an affection for organic cosmetics lately.
I feel better with cruelty free products.
The one I use at the moment is from Fresh Line.

    Cheers,
    T.
