5 WAYS TO STYLE LEVI’S 501

I´m obsessed with vintage jeans at the moment, as well as more retro denim styles such as the “mom” jeans and classic straight-leg styles. Hence why my latest denim investment with the classic Levi´s 501 has proven to be the best buy so far. But understandably at first glance, they might not seem the easiest jeans to style…

Firstly, finding those perfect vintage jeans is not necessarily an easy task; they should look soft and worn-out (yet not totally falling apart), and the ideal level of distressed (but still room to get even more wear and tear out of them). If you’re lucky, you might just still have a pair you can dig out from when you were younger, or ask your parents! You can also find great vintage jeans and the classic 501 on eBay or Etsy… (or just get a new pair and wear them out yourself of course – these ones are my absolute faves!). If not, I love Urban Outfitters for their vintage selection, and I scored these ones from their Oxford Street store a few weeks back. I’ve worn my 501 so much so far, and I’be personally found them pretty easy to style – from casual weekending, cocktails with the girls, or even to the office! Here are my 5 favourite looks.

LOOK 1:
DAY-TIME

For a casual, day-time and preppy look – throw on a loose fitted cotton shirt (semi-tucked in), with some statement loafers (I´m obsessed with silver ones at the moment) – finished off with a leather bag and classic sunnies, to make the overall look more luxe and modern. A definite fail-safe option!

LOOK 2:
HOLIDAY

These jeans are the perfect style for holiday, being loose fitted and super casual. Wear them with an ultra feminine bardot style top, a pair of flatform espadrilles (giving you that added height) – then belt the whole look for a more cinched-in effect. Casual chic.

LOOK 3:
COCKTAILS

These jeans might not be the obvious choice for evening cocktails; but being a big fan of more casual and understated looks, they’re the perfect style in my opinion. Just make sure you add some killer accessories and a feminine top, to balance out the overall look. Let your hair loose and add some red lippy, and you’re good to go!

I adore this outfit combo (it might just be my favourite); the black really adds that level of sophistication to the overall look, and with the lace bardot top and statement flats, it makes it the perfect day-to-night outfit (just add some dangly earrings and a smoky eye-liner).

WEEKEND

When the weekend arrives, all I want to wear is casual clothes – so naturally, I would style the jeans with a loose fitted top, some comfortable sandals, sunnies and my go-to headphones – for a relaxing Sunday stroll in the park.
