24 HOURS IN PARIS

24 HOURS IN PARIS

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being whisked away to Paris by French skincare brand, Darphin. Albeit a quick visit, the agenda was still nothing short than heavenly – including lots of eating, drinking, spa time and some afternoon free-time to explore the city (which just happened to have the dreamiest Spring feeling on the day we went) – not to mention a late night motorbike tour of the city! Paris is still one of my all-time favourite cities in the world; to me, it has it all. Class, sophistication, edge, vibrancy, beauty and tradition. What´s not to love?

I definitely always boost my sartorial game up in advance; and the colour palette is not surprisingly; classic elegance (with an edge), in almost certainly, an all-black ensemble. I´m also massively into layers at the moment – such as dresses over jeans or skinny leather pants, blazers underneath coats or over dresses with pants… You name it. I love wearing an oversized outfit, and pulling the look together with a slimline jacket.

Another favourite of mine – which I also included in my Monthly Favourites post for March – is my new Gucci Dionysus GG via Net-a-Porter. It´s been the best buy-  for so many reasons. The size, the classic pattern with the edgy chain and buckle – and the ability to transform and elevate, any simple black outfit. It´s a statement piece in it´s own right, and in my opinion, a Gucci bag is always a safe investment.

Gone are the days of wearing something “fashionable” and “cool”, just for the sake of it. Now, my main aim is to be comfortable, wear what suits me and my body shape, and always stay true to my style. In that way, I seem to always feel good in what I´m wearing, and then hopefully look better, as I feel confident in my outfit choice. Sure, I definitely have bad days from time to time (don´t we all?), where I´m completely stuck with what to wear, and feel awful in anything I put on (this is when my “mean girl” switches on) – but the older I get, the more I just get on with having an ´off-day`- I mean, there are a lot worse things in life, right?!

For me, this outfit I wore for the 24 hours I visited Paris, kind of sums up all the things I like; elegant with the blazer, comfortable with the loose fitted dress, edgy with the leather skinnies, sensible with the flats, and the chic cherry-on-top with my new Gucci Dionysus GG… Hopefully (kind of) merging in with the chic Parisians.
